Black hair is typically associated with characters who are mysterious, sophisticated, traditional, powerful, and ruthless. But, in the world of anime, there is absolutely nothing more captivating than a black hair anime character, and they are all lovable.

1) Mei Misaki (Another)

First on the list is Mei Misaki, the female protagonist of Another, an anime character with short black hair. She seems to appear strange and introverted, and is a third-year student at Yomiyama North Middle School with an eye patch that hides her left eye. The girl with the strange presence is always scribbling alone and is described as the one who “doesn’t exist.” 

Mei is a very petite girl, one of the shortest in her class, with fair skin and dense short jet-black hair. Her eyes were once red, but her mismatched irises are due to her left eye being fake, a doll’s eye that can see things better left unseen, as Mei tells it. Her mother created the glass eye when Mei damaged her real eye due to disease when she was four years old. 

2) Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Roy Mustang aka “Flame Alchemist,” and through alchemy, he has complete mastery over flame and fire. Roy is a clean-shaven handsome man with dark eyes. Roy has short dark black hair, which could be in accordance with his demeanor. 

Mustang is smart and often usually one step ahead of his rivals, and he likes to feel in charge of the situation, despite his outward arrogance and manipulation.  She is a curious, airhead girl who unintentionally gets superhuman abilities as a result of unexpected events. She wields the great shield as her primary weaponry. Kaede is a genuine person. However, her characteristic features are her naivety and enthusiasm. She isn’t particularly competitive, and she frequently plays for her enjoyment of herself. 

She, however, does not bear grudges against anybody, seeing almost every person as a potential buddy. Kaede has pale skin and glossy black hair that falls a little below her chin, as well as a short cow-lick lock. Her eyes are grey in color. Her in-game persona is identical to her real-life persona.

 Daisuke is an average-sized young man. He has blue-gray eyes that are dull, thick brows, and short, slicked-back black hair. His locks fall loosely across his face and reach past his brows when his hair is down.

12) Seishuu Handa (Barakamon)
