The latest chapter of Earthchild is an emotional rollercoaster. And therefore, Earthchild Chapter 17 spoilers are even harder to wait for. However, the spoilers are on their way to giving us some early hints about the current time-skip in the story. Before we jump into more details, let’s sum up what we know so far.
Chapter 16 begins with a shocking time-skip where Mamoru is introducing himself as an Earthchild and is in first grade. He is conversing with Maromi whilst the story continues to show us the dangerous situation ISS is in.
Reisuke loses his cool and demands to be let out of the space station again to save Kareri. He remains persistent even when Maromi slaps him to make him snap out of it. He begs everyone to leave him behind so that he can save Kareri alone.
Reisuke is also communicating with Kareri, who is requesting him not to sacrifice himself. She tells him to deliver her final message to Mamoru when he grows up.
However, her heartfelt message breaks her down, and she cries for help. This further frustrates Reisuke as he lets out an anguished scream due to helplessness. This puts Katagiri in a problematic situation as well as he has to decide what to do next.
Katagiri once again supports Resiuke and allows him to go and save Kareri. He announces that Albert and Reisuke together will leave ISS and try their best to save Kareri even if they have a slim chance of survival. As for the rest of them, they prepare to go back to earth along with Mamoru.
All this happens as Mamoru and Maromi discuss these events like it in the past. The chapter ends with Mamoru narrating the story of how Albert and Reisuke are about to dive into the deadly cosmic minefield.

Earthchild Chapter 17 Spoilers
The current chapter took us on a giant emotional rollercoaster. As many fans’ sensed, the story finally showed a time skip. This means that the plot does have more to it than just Reisuke and Kareri’s story. It could continue with Mamoru as the main lead. However, Mission: Peek-a-boo is still going on.
Therefore, chapter 17 is likely to continue with a story similar to the current chapter as a conversation between Mamoru and Maromi. Another thing to notice is that based on how they both are talking about Albert and Reisuke, it isn’t clear if they succeeded in saving Kareri and even managed to survive.
It will be devastating if either of them doesn’t make it out of space alive. However, we still have hope since Mamoru is refereeing to them in the present tense and only the past events in the past tense.
If Endo were to crush our hearts even more, Maromi might turn out to be Mamoru’s closest thing to mother since it’s not clear if Kareri is alive or not.
Regardless, we will know more about the mission in the upcoming chapter. Perhaps we should keep some tissues handy.
Earthchild Chapter 17 Release Date
Chapter 18 will be out on June 19th, 2022, as per the schedule. Luckily, we don’t have a break this week. Our wait for this chapter will be short and sweet.
