Demon Slayer has topped all charts regarding the number of watchers in 2022. During the end of Season 2, the series unveiled the presence of Obanai Iguro, the serpent Hashira who arrived and taunted Uzui for not easily eliminating Upper Moon 6.

He can easily overpower most of the Twelve Kizuki members, which we see during his fight with the Upper Moon Five.
Obanai’s visit to the Entertainment District, after Uzui’s fight with Gyutaro, speaks immensely of his strength.
He subtly mocks the Sound Hashira for his incapacitating condition after fighting the lowest of the Upper-Rank Demons.
Iguro, despite being blind from one eye, rose to the rank of a Hashira, which is engraved proof of his immense capabilities.
Obanai Iguro Breathing Style in Demon Slayer-
Obanai is the current Serpent Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps. He developed the Serpent Breathing technique on his own and is quite adept at it.
His breathing technique and attacking style mimic those of a serpent. This is evident during his fights, where we see him twisting and bending his body just like a snake.
The white snake that’s always wrapped around his neck can be rightfully called his combat partner, as Iguro has incorporated him into his attacks. He shares an immense bond with it and calls him Kaburamaru.
Being blind from one eye, he shares Kaburamaru’s field of vision. Obanai fights the Demon King and drives him to a corner, despite being in a crippling condition and blind from both eyes. It goes on to prove the abilities he gains by using his Serpent Breathing.
Obanai Iguro Power Level-
As a Hashira, Obanai possesses exceptional skills and combat abilities. He rose to the Hashira rank with just one functioning eye.
Obanai plays a formidable role in the fight of the Demon Slayers against the Demon King Muzan. He lasted the longest in the battle among the several other demon slayers, which speaks a lot about his power.
Abilities-
- 1) Heightened speed and reflexes-
Obanai’s speed and reflexes are from a superhuman dimension. During the Infinity castle arc, he kept up with the Demon King’s high-speed whip-like lashes.
He even awakens his demon slayer mark, which enhances his abilities further. He was quick to make a jump in front of Muzan’s attack, which would have otherwise beheaded Tanjiro.

To talk about “How strong is Obanai Iguro?”, The Serpent Hashira’s stamina and endurance play a pivotal role in turning the course of the final battle in favor of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Along with Mitsuri, the Love Hashira, he fights the Upper Moon Four Nakime and defeats the highly strong demon. Without flinching for a second from the fatigue of the previous fight, he rushes to aid Giyu and Tanjiro.
Despite being blinded and gravely injured, he manages to stall the overpowering Demon King and drive him to a corner.
Iguro was also the first Demon Slayer to awaken from the attack, leaving all the others incapacitated. He lasts the longest in the final fight with Muzan.
Obanai keeps fighting and fending off Muzan’s powerful attacks, despite the Demon King completely destroying his nervous system. The injuries he sustains are too grave, and he eventually succumbs to them.

The Serpent Hashira develops the technique to access the transparent world for a brief period. It enables him to track down Muzan’s vital organs, which were twelve in number.
He even understood that destroying those organs could be the only way to stop the monstrous Demon King.

Obanai’s slithering movements replicate those of a serpent’s. He is undoubtedly one of the most skilled swordsmen in the entire Demon Slayer Corps.
His skills are best shown in the upcoming Sword-smith arc, where his strange movement makes him pass through narrow openings with ease.
Does Obanai Like Mitsuri?
Yes, the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro, is deeply in love with the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. Obanai’s past is a miserable one that has led to his Gynophobia.
However, Mitsuri’s cheerful nature breaks Obanai’s shell causing the latter to develop feelings for the Love Hashira. It was love at first sight when Iguro saw her under a Sakura Tree for the first time.
He often expresses his love by sharing his food with Mitsuri or by giving her gifts.
The love between the two is shown during the last fight with the Demon King Muzan himself. After receiving frequent slashes from Muzan, she is rescued from the scene by the timely arrival of Iguro.
Before breathing her last, she requests Obanai not to lose his life. Both of them share the same hope: to reincarnate and meet each other as lovers and live a settled life. The sad fate of the two lovers leaves even the most stone-hearted person in tears.
