Kimetsu no Yaiba, a.k.a. Demon Slayer Season 2, has become the most-watched anime in 2022 worldwide. And now fans keep updating various questions and theories regarding this anime.
One of the most favored queries surfaced this week is “Who is the Strongest Hashira in Demon Slayer?”
The Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, is the most powerful among all Hashiras in Demon Slayer. He is the number one Hashira with enormous raw strength, extraordinary sword skills, and Stone Breathing-styled combat. No Hashira can overpower him in one on one fight.
Gyomei clashed with Upper 1 and Muzan along with other Hashira and played a prominent role in the final battle between Demons and Demon Slayers.

13) Kanae Kocho-
Kanae Kocho was one of the strongest demon slayers and a former Hashira. She was the elder sister of Shinobu Kocho, the current Insect Hashira.
Kanae was an extremely soft-natured person but fought with demons undaunted. She developed her own technique, the Flower Breathing, and had slain multiple demons.
In the story, she ran into the Upper Moon Two, Doma, where she fought with him toe to toe. In exchange, she lost her life against him.
12) Shinjuro Rengoku-
He is the former Flame Hashira and the father of the recently deceased Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku.
His external appearance is quite similar to his sons, but he was abusive and short-tempered towards them.
Despite having a hard exterior, we witness him breaking down into tears after Kyojuro’s death.
He suffers from an inferiority complex as he considers all breathing styles as low-grade imitations of the original Sun Breathing Technique.
During the infinity castle arc, he, along with Tengen, guards the Butterfly Mansion.
11) Jigoro Kuwajima-
Jigoro is the former Thunder Hashira and the man who can be credited for training Zenitsu Agatsuma.
He is a very short-statured older man with a long scar across his cheek. Jigoro is a highly dedicated person, both as a Hashira and while training his students.
This is evident from the fact that despite Zenitsu’s continuous whining and fears from training, he never left him alone and kept him on track.
10) Sakonji Urodaki-
Sakonji Urodaki is a retired Demon Slayer who previously held the position of Water Hashira.
He is the one who has trained the Water Breathing Technique to the current water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka, and Tanjiro Kamado.
With a seemingly stern attitude, he is pretty compassionate. Despite being a Demon Slayer, he bears no vengeance against Nezuko.
Instead, during her long sleep, he continuously fed into her conscience to love and protect humans against demons.
9) Shinobu Kocho-
Shinobu Kocho is one of the swiftest Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. She is the younger sister of Kanae Kocho.
Shinobu has a bright and cheerful personality and likes to take a pick on his comrades, especially Giyu Tomioka.
She does not flinch even for a second to kill a demon at sight, which is evident during her fight with the sister Spider Demon.
Shinobu is a major supporting character in the anime and assumes an extraordinary role in the Infinity Castle Arc.
She exhibited exceptional skills during her fight with the Upper-Rank Two, Doma. He acknowledges her as the fastest Hashira he has ever met.
Despite lacking the physical strength to decapitate a demon, she compensates for that with her lethal anti-demon poisons.
8) Tengen Uzui-
The former Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen Uzui, is the second strongest Hashira in terms of physical strength.
He is one of the main protagonists in the recently aired Entertainment District Arc.
Tengen, the flamboyant Hashira, is credited with the defeat of the Upper Moon Six, Daki, and Gyutaro, along with Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu.
He is extremely skilled with his weapons which are two substantial Nichirin cleavers connected by a chain.
Tengen is the fastest Hashira among all and is said to move with the speed of sound.
The fight with the Upper-Rank Six resulted in Uzui losing an arm and an eye, causing his untimely retirement from the Demon Slayer Corps.
7) Mitsuri Kanroji-
In the 7th position in this list of the strongest Hashira in Demon Slayer, we have Mitsuri, is the current Love Hashira.
Mitsuri’s contributions during the Swordsmith Arc and Infinity Castle Arc are immense.
She quickly takes down a large horde of demons created by the Upper-Rank Five and the clone of Hantegu, the Upper-Rank Four.
Mitsuri not only manages to stall the fight with Muzan till daybreak but also lands a surprise attack on him, cutting his elongated arm.
After getting slashed by Muzan and saved by Obanai, she shares her hope with him to get reincarnated, meet each other as lovers, and get married.
6) Kyujuro Rengoku-
The 6th position in this list of strongest Hashira in Demon Slayer is occupied by the late Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku.
He was an extremely skilled combatant, and his flamboyant attitude above all made him a standout. He always had a broad smile pasted across his face.
Kyojuro was the main protagonist in the Mugen Train Arc of Demon Slayer anime series. He fought on par with the Upper Moon Three, Akaza, and held his ground till daybreak.
Despite having his solar plexus torn off by Akaza, when he inserted his hand right into his abdomen, Rengoku did not flinch even for a second.
His struggle was enough to make the eyes of the most stone-hearted people moist.

5) Muichiro Tokito-
Now, we have the Demon Slayer known to rise to the Hashira status in just two months.
Yes, we are talking about the current Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito. He is the 5th most powerful Hashira.
Being a child of prodigy and a descendant of the Upper-Rank One, Kokushibo, Muichiro possesses exceptional skills.
He plays a pivotal role during the Swordsmith Village Arc and the Infinity Castle Arc. He easily defeats the Upper-Rank Five single-handedly after awakening her Demon Slayer Mark.
The fight with Kokushibo witnesses Muichiro’s combat finesse, and his sacrifice plays a crucial role in the Upper Moon One’s defeat.
4) Obanai Iguro-
In the 4th position, we have Obanai Iguro, the current Serpent Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.
He carries a serpent around his neck, named Kaburamaru, and can be rightfully called his combat partner.
Obanai plays a phenomenal role in the Infinity Castle Arc against the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji.
During the battle, Iguro shows immense stamina and endurance and stalls Muzan even after getting fatally wounded.
Among all the Demon Slayers who fight the battle against Muzan, Iguro lasts the longest but eventually succumbs to his injuries.
3) Giyu Tomioka-
Finally, it’s time for the Top 3 Strongest Hashira in Demon Slayer. In the third position, we have the current Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka.
He was the first Demon Slayer we fans have encountered in the series. He was also the first to acknowledge the intense sibling bond between Tanjiro and the newly turned demon Nezuko.
Giyu is an exceptionally skilled swordsman and possesses heightened combat abilities.
Time and again, Giyu has awestruck us with his immensely polished techniques, be it during his fight with the Lower Rank Five, Rui or with Akaza, and even the Demon King Muzan himself.
He fought head-on with Akaza, the Upper-Rank Three, and by awakening his Demon Slayer mark and with Tanjiro’s aid, the duo beheads the demon.
He is the only surviving Hashira along with Sanemi after the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji.
2) Sanemi Shinazugawa-
In the 2nd position, we have the Wind Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Sanemi Shinazugawa.
Sanemi plays a pivotal role in the upcoming anime arcs, namely in the Infinity Castle Arc.
He fights head-on with the two strongest Demons, Muzan and Kokushibo. He has a short-tempered and abrasive personality and has a deep-rooted hatred for demons.
During his fight with Kokushibo, the latter acknowledges the fact that Sanemi is notably the most skilled swordsman, even among Hashiras.
After the fight, despite being gravely injured, he survives and, alongside Giyu, becomes the only two surviving Hashiras.
1) Gyomei Himejima-
Finally, it’s time for the Strongest Hashira in Demon Slayer Corps. It’s none other than the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima.
He is the tallest Hashira, with a vast bulky-muscular body and the strongest in terms of physical strength.
Gyomei is the only one along with Muichiro to rise to the status of a Hashira in just two months.
He plays a pivotal role in the Infinity Castle Arc, fighting toe to toe with the Upper-Rank One, Kokushibo.
The latter also mentions that he has not met anyone of Gyomei’s caliber in the past three hundred years.
