Deku vs. Shigaraki

The spoilers of My Hero Academia Chapter 412 are provided by ever and Rukasu on X. The title of the chapter is “History’s Craziest Hero.”

  • My Hero Academia Chapter 412 starts with an X-ray of Deku’s arm, showing that he’s using Black Whip inside his muscles to expand them and gain more power. He uses a powerful Delaware Smash that destroys everything around him. 
  • Shigaraki commends his idea, noting that destroying the land around him is a clever way of dealing with Decay. He tries to use Decay on the land again but the dust smoke from Deku’s previous attack is still present. Suddenly, multiple black whips come out of the smoke.
  • Deku attacks Shigaraki from above and tears his arm out. His use of Gearshift’s 1st gear allowed the smoke to dissipate slower and the multiple black whips caused Shigaraki’s Danger Sense to activate non-stop, making it unable to predict Deku’s movements. He begins to charge Fa Jin.
  • Shigaraki uses Search to find Deku’s weakness and learns that Deku can’t breathe. Gearshift is completely exhausted and Deku is suffering from the aftereffects. He’s overused his Quirks, causing Black Whip to appear around his arm. 
  • Shigaraki regrows his arm and mocks Deku over his wish to protect many things and the weakness caused by it. But Deku says he won’t give up on the crying boy he saw. The Villain regards his heartfelt wish, reminding Deku that some people can’t be saved and the only way for Deku is to kill him.
  • However, Deku is determined to save Shigaraki from himself. Kudo says that he couldn’t accept Deku at first, so he saw his memories. Deku never gave up on somebody.
  • Suddenly the arm of Star and Stripes appears out of the vestiges to point at something. When Kudo looks in that direction, he says, “Ninth, listen to me: you have to let go of One For All…”
  • The chapter ends with the flashback of All Might telling Deku he can be a Hero too.
