For an anime that has been running for so long, One Piece indeed has its own twists and turns. In fact, the recent manga chapter brought out a revelation that will stun you to the core and consolidate a fan theory that has been going on for years now. Is Luffy Joyboy in One Piece?

The answer is Yes. Luffy is the reincarnation of Joyboy, as mentioned in One Piece Chapter 1043. Zunesha heard the voice of Joyboy’s heartbeat in Luffy and referred to it as the “Drums of Liberation.” The last panel clearly illustrates that Luffy is Joyboy. Who is JoyBoy? (Theory)-

Joyboy was an adventurer like Luffy and Roger, who sailed the seas and was one of the most prominent figures during the Void Century. Since the World Government tried to obliterate all known facts about the Void Century from public notice, there are very few references of Joboy remaining at present.

The only known source for Joyboy’s information is in the Ryugu Poneglyph that Nico Robin read at the Sea Forest. Joyboy’s goal was World Peace; however, he failed to keep that promise to Fishman Island. His true secret and motives are hidden in the final island in the Grand Line.

When Roger reached the final island, her realized that he was too early and laughed at the true nature of Laugh Tale. Earlier, Oden and Whitebeard considered Momonosuke or Ace to be the reincarnation of Joyboy. But now, the series unveiled that Luffy is the one.

Joyboy Devil Fruit (Theory)-

Joyboy consumed the Nika Nika no Mi devil fruit, and according to YUDE-RON, Nika term stands for oil or resin.

It is pretty striking that the resin fruit shares different properties as the Gomu Gomu no Mi that Luffy ate. Still, Luffy uses a glimpse of resin’s effects unconsciously.

Luffy’s attack Red Hawk contains fire, and fire is not a rubber property; it’s the property of resin or oil. In our opinion, it’s one of Joyboy’s abilities.

While the true extent of Joyboy’s powers is yet to be known, many fans have also predicted that his powers were in close consideration to the present devil fruit abilities of Luffy.

Is Luffy Joyboy in One Piece?

Luffy is the reincarnation of Joyboy justified in the One Piece manga Chapter 1043. Many fans speculate that Gomu Gomu no Mi is the same devil fruit as Nika Nika no Mi, whose name and outer properties were changed by Vegapunk and World Government to carry out the experiment.

Also, both Luffy and Joyboy share the same goal. Joyboy’s ideology was World Peace, while Luffy’s final goal was to share sake with everyone in the world’s largest party.

With too many resemblances, fans have also made their way of dressing similar too. Luffy wore the straw hat as Joyboy wore 900 years ago.

Since Poseidon was not born during Roger’s time, he was considered too early and passed off D’s Will to the future generation.

Back to the current scenario, Luffy lost to Kaido for the second time in battle, and his body started to melt in a puddle which said Nika. Nika was referred to as an ancient sun god. Both the ancient sun god and Joyboy had the power of erasing others’ sufferings with the tap of a drum.

At the very end of the manga, Luffy is found melting into a muddle with a grin. It projects Luffy has finally awakened his devil fruit or reawaken into someone else.

After Luffy’s loss against Kaido, he passes out, and smoke is found coming out of his mouth, symbolizing the end of Gear Four. At the end of Gear Four, Luffy melts into a puddle with a smile.

YUDE-RON theorizes that the direct relation between Luffy and Joyboy perhaps comes through the Gomu Gomu no Mi fruit or Nika Nika no Mi, which both of them ate.

It means that the fruit initially was designed to serve a different purpose. It also assures that Luffy’s fruit was what Gorosei were discussing, meaning it was not the Gomu Gomu No Mi originally in the first place but an entirely different one.

The properties of rubber were put in to hide the actual powers of the Nika Nika no Mi. That is why the World Government casked CP0 to eliminate Luffy before awakening his devil fruit.

In Japan, the traditional Nika stands for resin, oil or fire. Luffy’s Hawk Gatling has the powers of fire because it contains the properties of Nika Nika no Mi. Now let’s see how the series will unveil the true nature, name, and abilities of awakened Gomu-Gomu no Mi.

Luffy vs Kaido-

The fight against Kaido symbolizes that Luffy is not yet at the Yonko level. He was brutally beaten up even after combing the gear fourth with Ryu. Even if CP0 boss hadn’t interrupted the battle, the probability of Luffy’s winning was still significantly less.

He was already at his limit, and on the other hand, Kaido showed no sign of major injury. After Luffy’s defeat, he is still fighting and conquering the remenants. It demonstrates that since the beginning of the Wano Arc, Luffy stood no chance to defeat Kaido.

The last manga chapter begins with Luffy passing out from the impact. Kaido then proceeds to give the devastating news to Nami and Luffy’s crew. Nami refuses to believe Kaido and pledges to fight him.

At this moment, Zunesha states that he can hear the drums of liberation and that “he has returned.” And Luffy’s final transformation into Joyboy, stating that ‘he’ is there without a doubt.

One Piece Chapter 1043 left the readers on a cliffhanger, and the real nature of Luffy’s powers can only be found in the new edition that comes out on March 20th.
