We know that the outward design of a character tells half of their story before you even dive into the story. Of course, “don’t judge a book by its cover.” However, there is a reason artists and animators deliberately add certain style choices to a character design.
Even a simple detail like a good ol’ pair of glasses can bring out the personality of a character. Although these glasses may have been a signifier of “nerdy” or “intelligent” traits of a character in the past, we are moving past these stereotypes. Slowly but surely.
Humans have a tendency to move toward what they relate to. Perhaps these chubby characters were what gave you solace after you were bullied by those who only perceived shallow appearances.
Today, we will be looking at 10 Fat Cartoon Characters With Glasses. Most of these characters have a tendency to have either a humorous or a caring disposition. Let’s reminisce and take a look at them!
10 Fat Cartoon Characters With Glasses
10. Daddy Pig

Cartoon Name: Peppa Pig
It makes sense to start with a father on our list. Daddy Pig is the funny, clumsy, and hyperactive dad of Peppa and George Pig. A big smile on his face and his carefree make it possible for him to take on anything in the world.
Daddy Pig wears black round-rimmed glasses and has a portly belly. He is quite skilled with his hands as he seems to be an architect, even designing the house his family lives in. Like all fathers, he has a good sense of humor and is more intuitive than he looks.
9. Gepetto

Cartoon Name: Pinocchio
This seems like quite a popular choice for father figures. A kind, old woodcarver who wants to have a son is how we can describe him. He also has a whimsical streak and gleefully spends most of his time working on unique creations in his workshop.
His square glasses and slightly chubby body add to his soft personality.

8. Roz

Cartoon Name: Monster’s Inc.
It’s impressive how little screen time Roz needed to leave an impression on an audience. After all, her “WAZOWSKI” is downright iconic. A supporting character in Disney Pixar’s Monsters Inc., Roz is a grouchy slug monster who minds Floor F of the company.
She wears black cat-eye glasses and is a pretty big monster. However, behind her tough exterior, she does have a sympathetic heart as she allows the duo time to say their final goodbye to Boo.
7. Mr. Smee

Cartoon Name: Peter Pan
First mate of the sinister captain with a twirling mustache, Mr. Smee, is the secondary antagonist of Disney’s Peter Pan. Although it’s difficult to call him “evil” since most of the time he is just a bumbling idiot. In fact, Hook is often annoyed by his incompetence.
In direct contrast to his megalomaniacal captain, Mr Smee is more cordial and soft-spoken. He has a big stomach and wears gold-rimmed half-moon glasses that sit on his nose.
6. Miriam Pickles

Cartoon Name: Rugrats
Lou’s only cousin and Tommy’s grand Aunt, Miriam Pickles, is quite active for her age. She and Lou had a strained relationship in the past, but it turned much better after they reconciled. In fact, her relationship with his brother is not different from that of Tommy and Angelica, which is why Angelica took an immediate liking to her.
Miriam has a round tummy but a slender upper body. She wears pink cat-eye glasses. Her insecurities are what led to her bullying Lou, but after resolving them, her personality became better.
5. Doc Dwarf
Cartoon Name: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The seven dwarves are quite popular since almost every kid knows about Snow White. Amongst the seven, Doc Dwarf is the pot-bellied, self-proclaimed leader of the bunch. He bumbles and daydreams, often losing his train of thought mid-sentence, but he is quite the intelligent one.
Doc wears frameless round glasses that sit on his big red nose. His character design does well to reflect his kind and understanding nature as he is the first to give orders to accommodate Snow White.
4. Sadness

Cartoon Name: Inside Out
Deuterogonist of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, Sadness is one of the five major emotions inside Riley. She was the second emotion to be born after Joy. As Joy was the dominant emotion for the longest time, Sadness didn’t really know what her role was.
She is the definition of sorrow. Sadness wears big round glasses and always walks with a slight slouch due to her pessimistic disposition. Joy, albeit unknowingly, always prevented her from trying until the end, when they realize how important she is for Riley as a person.
3. Muriel Bagge

Cartoon Name: Courage the Cowardly Dog
Muriel is the picture of a sweet, kind old lady. The deuteragonist of the series, she is Courage’s owner and Eustace’s wife. Although the show often depicts her as a damsel in distress, with courage fighting the monsters so they can’t harm her, there is more than enough evidence to prove that she doesn’t hesitate to turn stern when the situation calls.
Muriel wears round, frameless glasses that hide her eyes. She loves cooking, knitting, and quilling. She is sweet to a fault, though, as villains often take advantage of her naivety.
2. Peter Griffin

Cartoon Name: Family Guy
It is not an exaggeration to say that Family Guy is one of the most recognizable animated series in the whole world. It may be an American sitcom, but you will be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard of it.
Peter Griffin, a parody of a typical American Family man, is a stereotypically stupid blue-collar worker. He is overweight, his stomach barely tucked in by his belt. His glasses are not that noticeable since the art style makes it seem that they are incorporated into his eyes.
1. Mama Odie

Cartoon Name: The Princess And The Frog
Mama Odie is a unique one as she wears glasses not to aid her seeing but BECAUSE she can’t see. But who needs eyes to see when you are the ‘Voodoo Queen of the Bayou’ with a snake companion?
Princess and Frog gave us some really amazing characters, and Mama Odie is truly unforgettable. Being 197 years old doesn’t stop her from having fun; she is always up for a party. She is also wise and really powerful, though he never uses her power directly to solve people’s problems. Instead, she leads them to carve their own path while cherishing their love and relationships.
