Based on the concept of high school delinquents, Tokyo Revengers served as a refreshing series in the current-gen anime. The concept suggests that the series is filled with some of the most powerful characters who possess exceptional combat skills and battle IQ. Therefore, today we bring you a list of the top 28 most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers, ranked and discussed as per the latest manga chapter.

28) Shion Madarame

We’ll start this ranking of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers with Shion Madarame. He used to be the leader of the Ninth Generation of the Black Dragon until his gang was defeated by Mikey and the newly formed Tokyo Manji Gang in 2003. Shion is also part of the S-62 Generation and later joins Tenjiku, becoming one of the Four Heavenly Kings.

In 2008, he joins Rokuhara Tandai as its Number 5. Despite the high-ranking positions he’s held throughout the story, Shion isn’t all that special in fighting. He lacks the strength and conviction compared to other major characters but he does know how to inflict damage to his enemies, using brass knuckles in fights.

27) Kazutora Hanemiya

Despite being a shounen series, Tokyo Revengers has never shied away from showing mental health issues. One of the characters whose mental health has made him a deeply troubled and tragic young man is Kazutora Hanemiya. He is one of the six founding members of Toman. 

While trying to steal a bike for Mikey, he ended up murdering Shinichiro Sano, not knowing that he was Mikey’s brother. However, Kazutora’s disturbed mind couldn’t take the shock and guilt of his actions and he blamed Mikey for everything. Out of the six founding members, Kazutora is the weakest one. However, he is still a strong fighter which is why he’s at number 27 as one of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers.

26) Hajime Kokonoi

Apart from Mikey, the most coveted character of Tokyo Revengers is none other than Hajime Kokonoi aka Koko. In fact, in some cases, his importance has been stated to be even greater than the leader of Toman. That is because Koko is a genius at making money which makes him indispensable to every gang.

The role of Koko is not fighting but finding ways to make money for the gang, which is why he doesn’t participate in fights all that much. But if he has to, he sure knows how to throw a punch. In fact, he’s shown how he can fight on a few occasions in the story.

25) Seishu Inui

Up next is Koko’s best friend, Seishu Inui, or Inupi, as Koko affectionately calls him. Inupi, along with Koko, used to be members of the Tenth Generation of the Black Dragon. But unlike Koko, he also served under Izana Kurokawa and Shion Madarame during their time as the leaders of the organization.

His loyalty to the Black Dragon comes from his deep admiration for Shinichiro, the leader and founder of the organization. Inupi is a skilled fighter, having been in numerous fights during his rather extensive stint as a gang member. But despite his conviction and experience, it’s hard for him to compete against most of the major characters.

24) Hakkai Shiba

One of the most unsettling family dynamics shown in Tokyo Revengers is that of the Shiba siblings. But no matter how troubling, there is one thing common between all three Shiba siblings: they sure know how to fight. Hakkai is the vice-captain of the Second Division of Toman, under Takashi Mitsuya, whom he admires and respects greatly. The younger boy is tall and strong and has a mean punch, but compared to his siblings, Hakkai still has a long way to go.

23) Yuzuha Shiba

Yuzuha is the elder sister of Hakkai Shiba. She has set a perfect example of a protective elder sister. Yuzuha is brave, carefree, and deeply cares about the people around her. She has always shielded Hakkai and herself from all the roughness from Taiju, their elder brother.

Yuzuha fought bravely against Taiju alongside Takemichi, Hakkai and successfully won. There is no doubt that she possesses some dangerous fighting skills and intelligence when it comes to protecting those she loves. Her overall prowess makes her one of the strongest characters in Tokyo Revengers.

22) Haruchiyo Sanzu

Haruchiyo Sanzu was an unsuspecting character at first but his true role is revealed later in the series. He becomes the second-in-command in Kanto Manji Gang and in Bonten in the alternate timeline. Sanzu is also the brother of Senju and Akashi.

Like every high-ranking gang member, Sanzu is also a capable fighter. But what makes him truly frightening is his unsettling approach to a fight. He’ll not hesitate to use serious weapons in a fight to injure, sometimes lethally, his opponent.

21) Chifuyu Matsuno

Chifuyu is the vice-captain of the First Division in Toman. He is one of the few people who knows about Takemichi’s time-leap ability.

Since his middle school years, Chifuyu was the strongest in his school, and even his seniors were afraid of him. He became the top delinquent in his school and remained undefeated.

Chifuyu is extremely loyal, brave, and the kind of friend one wishes for. He has fought against many powerful opponents proving his fighting skills. Although he isn’t the strongest, his strength is remarkable and useful in a battle. Therefore, he deserves a place on our list.

20) Yasuhiro Muto

Muto, aka Mucho, is currently the founding member of Tenjiku and executive. Initially, he was the Captain of the 5th division of Toman.

Mucho is naturally a muscular and physically gifted man. He is crowned as the strongest division leader of Toman. He also specializes in Judo, giving him an advantage in fights. His raw strength is powerful enough to snap his opponent’s spine.

19) Ryohei Hayashi

Ryohei Hayashi is more commonly known by his nickname, Peh-yan. He was the vice-captain of the 3rd Division of Toman under Pah-chin. Peh-yan was a good friend and very loyal to his captain, which led him to betray Mikey and Toman, though he later regrets his decision.

While not commonly put under the flashlight, Peh-yan is very strong and can take on multiple opponents at a time. His brawling is one of the strongest in Toman, which is why he’s at number 19 as one of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers.

18) Haruki Hayashida

Another person who is more popular by his nickname is Pah-chin. His real name is Haruki Hayashida. He’s one of the founding members of Toman and was the captain of the 3rd Division before he was arrested.

Pah-chin uses his large build as his strength in fights. He’s a very strong brawler who’s a formidable opponent and can raise hell. Though he was gone for most of the series, he shows his true potential in the final fight and is one of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers.

17) Nahoya Kawata

Nahoya, aka Smiley, is the Captain of the 4th division of Toman. As his nickname suggests, he always has a smile on his face. He is acknowledged as Toman’s formidable fighter.

He has defeated some of the powerful delinquents, such as Kakucho. Unlike his younger twin, Angry, Nahoya doesn’t lose his composure during a fight and always knows what to do during critical situations.

Smiley is extremely protective of his brother as well as loyal to his friends. He is a ruthless fighter when challenged and provoked.

16) Takashi Mitsuya

Mitsuya has gathered a large number of admirers in Tokyo Revengers fandom due to his loving personality. He is extremely loyal, mature, and deeply cares about his friends. As a result, all his members look up to him and are loyal to him.

Mitsuya is a founding member and Captain of the 2nd Division of Toman. He has fought against some of the most powerful characters in the series and put up a great fight. One notable moment of true strength was when he survived a blow on his head with a metal bat against Inui and continued fighting.

15) Keisuke Baji

Baji is a founding member and Captain of the 1st Division of Toman. He is an exceptional fighter with insane endurance. Baji single-handedly defeated 50 enemies with a stab wound and protected Toman. He easily intimidates his opponents with his presence and large body.

Baji is a brutal and powerful fighter that was unfairly defeated and only with a well-thought-out plan specially made for him. He was the only character to realize that Toman was in danger when Kazutora came into the picture. He proved his loyalty to Toman and his friends by literally sacrificing his life.

14) Haitani Brothers

Ran and Rindo Haitani were members of Bonten. The two of them are extremely brutal and rule Roppongi alone. They have been part of many gangs, each more powerful than the last.

Ran always fights using unfair tactics, be it anything that will guarantee his victory. And on the other hand, Rindo wrestles his opponent by locking their joints and breaking them. Both the siblings are extremely dangerous fighters who enjoy violence. They are both one of the most powerful delinquents in the entire series.

13) Kanji Mochizuki

Mochizuki aka Mochi is a commanding officer in Kanto Manji Gang. Mochi possesses an insane amount of physical strength, due to which he is called a “gorilla.” His mere brute force in a fight is enough to launch away his opponents to a great distance.

Later, he became one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku. This title alone is enough to prove his prowess and make him one of the strongest characters in Tokyo Revengers.

12) Shuji Hanma

Hanma is a member of Kanto Manji and one of the few people who could counter Mikey’s powerful kicks. He possesses incredible endurance and fighting skills that allow him to defeat many delinquents single-handedly.

He gave everybody a hard time simply because he was too powerful to take down, even by Draken. More so because, like Kisaki, he is also one of the characters who has a frightening battle IQ.

It was only due to one of his miscalculations that he was defeated. Hanma is one of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers and a tough one for Takemichi to manage through his time leaps.

11) Souya Kawata

The younger of the Kawata Twins, Souya is more popularly known as Angry. Despite his often hardened expression, Angry is a kind and gentle soul in contrast to his more aggressive and sadistic brother. He’s the vice-captain of the 4th Division of Toman.

While usually Souya is a great fighter, his fighting skills pale against Smiley. But when he is deeply angry or pained and starts crying, the true potential of his powers is revealed. In this condition, Angry can take on multiple powerful opponents all by himself.

10) Keizo Arashi

Arashi, aka Benkei, is one of the “living legends” and an extraordinary fighter. He belongs to Black Dragon and is a founding member.

Benkei is naturally a muscular man and, therefore, has an insane amount of physical strength. He alone defeated around 100 men of Rokuhara Tandai. Apart from them, he was also able to put up a tough fight against one of the strongest characters, South Terano.

9) Wakasa Imaushi

Wakasa is one of the founding members of Black Dragon. He is also the Captain of the Commando Unit of Kanto Manji.

Wakasa is also one of the “living legends” and an exceptional fighter. Since he is agile, he has an acrobatic fighting style, making it impossible for his opponents to hit him. Alongside Benkei, he defeated around 100 men of Rokuhara Tandai.

8) Senju Kawaragi

As scarce as female characters are, in Tokyo Revengers, Senju is the most powerful female character. She has been part of many gangs as well as Bhraman’s President. She is extremely cunning and collected during a fight. As a result, she is able to defeat delinquents twice or thrice her size, such as South Terano.

Being one of the Three Deities, Senju has an acrobatic and agile fighting style similar to Mikey and, therefore, is difficult to fight against. She remains one of the top fighters in the Tokyo Revengers series.

7) Kakuchou

Kakucho is a member of Bonten. He is one of the fastest fighters in Tokyo Revengers. He defeated some of the most powerful characters like Angry, Inui, Chifuyu, etc. Given his title as Bonten’s Number 3 is enough to prove his prowess.

Additionally, Kakucho was formerly head of the Four Heavenly Kings and the strongest fighter in Tenjiku. His strength is noted only to be second to Izana.

6) Taiju Shiba

Taiju is the leader of the 10th Generation members of Black Dragon. He is an extremely violent and brutal fighter who also abused his younger siblings. 

Taiju possesses an insane level of fighting skills and physical strength. He was able to knock out Mikey and defeat many powerful opponents. Apart from combat skills, he is also an intelligent individual who uses people for his own benefit, such as Koko to fund his gang.

5) Ken Ryuguji

Ryuguji, aka Draken, is one of the founding members of Toman as well as vice-president. He is naturally taller than other characters and one of the most handsome characters in the series.

He possesses an exceptional level of skills and strength. Draken could defeat a whole gang by himself and be still standing in a fairly good condition. He is a fearsome and incredible fighter who defeated some of the most powerful characters, such as South Terano.

He specializes in powerful kicks and punches that can knock out opponents twice or thrice his size.

4) Minami Terano

Minami Terano, aka South Terano, is one of the Three Deities and the Representative of Rokuhara Tandai. When he was only 12 years old, he was a gang leader in his hometown, Rio De Janeiro.

He is an invincible fighter possessing frightening physical strength. He throws destructive punches and hooks. A mere punch from him is enough to knock off some of the powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers, such as Senju, Wakasa, Benkei, Kakucho, Inui, and the entire S-62 Generation.

3) Izana Kurokawa

Izana Kurokawa is one of Mikey’s brothers. He established a gang only when he was 13 years old, S-62 Generation. He is currently the leader of Tenjiku and has strict authority over all his members. Izana is acknowledged as the most powerful member of Tenjiku. He’s also one of the most powerful characters in Tokyo Revengers.

Apart from Tenjiku, his strength is on par with Mikey. That itself is enough to prove his prowess. Additionally, he has frightening battle senses that allow him to read his opponents’ moves precisely. Therefore, he easily counters every attack against him.

2) Shinichiro Sano

Before we finally unveil the number one spot, here’s Shinichiro Sano. He’s the older brother of Mikey and Emma and the surrogate brother of Izana. Shinichiro was the one to form the First Generation of Black Dragon with the intention of passing it on to Mikey.

Like Mikey, Shinichiro was also extremely strong even though he wasn’t good at fights and often lost to others. This was only because he didn’t want to fight with all his power. A true example of his strength is when he bends an electric pole with just a punch and defeats a whole gang all by himself.

1) Manjiro Sano

Manjiro, aka Mikey, is the deuteragonist of the series. He is the founder and former leader of Toman. Currently, he is the leader of Kanto Manji and remains undefeated.

His incredible kicks have defeated every opponent that stood before him. He specializes in martial arts and therefore is called “Invincible Mikey.” Despite being on the shorter side of the height, it makes no difference to his exceptional combat skills and raw physical strength.

It’s no surprise that Mikey is the most powerful character in Tokyo Revengers and tops the list.
