The song was her breakthrough, giving her entry on Billboard Hot 100, leading to her signing a record deal with Warner Records. However, Erica’s rise to fame was far from overnight.

She began her music career in 2018 and signed to LA Reid’s record label Hitco Entertainment in 2019. She also made an appearance in Cardi B’s hit single, WAP, in 2020.

Her first official mixtape, For the Streets, had guest appearances from Future and PartyNextDoor. Rubi is daring with her style and confident with her rapping. She has a strong voice which compliments her rapping really well.

Lakeyah Danaee Robinson, known mononymously as Lakeyah, made waves with her City Girls remix in 2019, gaining the attention of Quality Control Music which then signed with her. Her first single, BigFlexHER, gained 400,000 views in five days and currently sits at a whopping 5.8 million views.

The Wisconsin-born American rapper went on to make a now-popular song with City Girls themselves called Female Goat. In 2021, she even got a feature in XXL Magazine and was announced as part of their freshmen class.

This spotlight has been given to big artists like Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, and Travis Scott in the past. Lakeyah is the first Milwaukee rapper to gain this spotlight in 14 years.

It’s almost unbelievable how many successful collaborations this young Bronx female rapper has got under her belt by now. Isis Naija Gaston, also known as Ice Spice, has been dropping sick beats and slick flows since she started her career in 2021.

Her collab with Lil Tjay, Gangsta Boo, lead to her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her most popular collab is undoubtedly the iconic Boy’s a Liar Pt.2 with PinkPanthress, which has been considered one of the best songs of this year.

This song peaked at number 3 on the Hot 100. She also collaborated with Taylor Swift in Karma, and Nicki Minaj in Princess Diana, which peaked at number 2 and 3, respectively, leading her to become the artist with the most top fives in 2023.

You wouldn’t realize how young this Ohio-born rapper is by everything she has achieved already. She won The Rap Game’s first season in 2016 but rejected the offered record deal. Her debut single Bitch from da Souf gained a place on Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.

Latto’s lead single, Big Energy, of her album 777 exploded her on the scene in 2022. This song peaked at number 3 on Billboard Hot 100. She has received a number of nominations and accolades to date, including a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2023 Grammys.

She recently appeared on Jungook (of BTS)’s solo single, Seven, as the featured artist. The music video has already gained almost 80 million views within 5 days.
