The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga first got launched as the spin-off of the Naruto franchise in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, then got transferred in the September issue of V Jump on 20 July. Boruto narrates the tale of Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto and the next generation of shinobis. So, here in this list, we will rank the strongest characters in Boruto so far.
The power structure of the characters noticeably reformulates in the Borutoverse. We witness the full strength of characters like Naruto and Sasuke, but we also see the rise of new antagonists like Momoshiki and the members of Kara. And with the unpredictability of the manga, it becomes pretty difficult to rank the characters of Boruto just by their strength. 20) Shinki-
Shinki is the adopted son of Gara and a Chūnin of Sunagakure. He is considered the ace of Suna, and he rightly proves his worth in the Chūnin exams.
As a puppeteer, he can control a skeleton like a puppet using only sand. His affinity is towards Earth and Wind Release, which he uses for Magnet Release.
At first, he couldn’t control his powers, but after training with Gaara, he becomes competent at manipulating Iron Sand. In the anime, we also see him using Lightning Release to enhance his iron sand attack.
19) Sarada Uchiha-
Sarada is an elite ninja who is the daughter of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Uchiha. Just like her parents, she is exceptionally talented and stronger than average ninjas her age.
As an Uchiha, she possesses the Sharingan, and in the manga, she even unlocked her 3rd Tomoe. She is also skilled in Shurikenjutsu and Ninjutsu, with an affinity towards Lightning and Yin Release.
Like Sakura, Sarada has exceptional control of her chakra and possesses superhuman strength. Recently, she even managed to perform Chidori, making her the 3rd ever user of it.
18) Mitsuki (Sage Mode)-
Mitsuki is the son of Orochimaru, whom he created as a synthetic human. He is one of the strongest characters in Boruto and has tremendous potential to even be more powerful than his parent.
When it comes to chakra, he possesses a high level of it, enough for him to achieve sage mode. His signature move is definitely his soft physique modification.
Among other things, he can summon snakes, perform Lightning and Wind releases, and is proficient in Medical Ninjutsu.
17) Konohamaru Sarutobi-
In Boruto, Konohamaru becomes the leader of team 7, which includes Boruto, Mitsuki, and Sarada. He is also the one who passed down his knowledge of Rasengan to Boruto, which he acquired from Naruto.
In the beginning, he was rather uninterested in honing his skills as he wanted to follow Naruto and become successful quicker. But he slowly persevered and even managed to become a Jonin by adulthood.
He even managed to perform Rasengan without the help of a shadow clone. Apart from that, he is skilled in nature transformations and can also summon giant toads like Gamagorō.
16) Sakura Uchiha-
Sakura is the strongest kunoichi currently. As an adult, she is even considered stronger than Tsunade, her mentor, who was the 5th Hokage.
She has exceptional physical strength and can easily destroy buildings and even make craters with her punches.
As a medical ninja, she is considered one of the best healers in Konoha. Just like Tsunade, She can also summon Lady Katsuyu, the giant slug. Apart from all this, she is the wielder of Byakugou and has the Strength of a Hundred Seals.
15) Shikamaru Nara-
Shikamaru, due to his keen intellect and exceptional achievements becomes the head of the Nara clan as well as the Hokage’s assistant.
His nature transformation includes Yin release helping him with Fire and Earth releases as well as shadow-based techniques. He can also manipulate his own shadow, a power he inherited from his clan.
With this ability, he can restrain anyone and force them to mimic his own actions. But it is widely accepted that his most powerful weapon is his cleverness, as he is easily one of the best strategists of Konoha.
14) Gaara-
The 5th Kazekage was one of the most powerful characters in Naruto and still is in Boruto. As Suna’s ultimate weapon, he had been trained to become a killing machine from a very young age.
Gaara is exceptionally proficient in Nature transformations, especially in the Earth, Lightning, and Wind release, and obviously, he can control sand. He also became a skilled Taijutsu user being on par with Naruto, as commented by Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki.
We see him being the best when it comes to defense as he uses a shield of sand to protect himself and his friends. In Boruto, as well, we see him fighting head to head with Kinshiki and Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki.
13) Rock Lee-
Rock Lee, the taijutsu master, is the embodiment of the spirit of a Shinobi. He showed us that hard work could even surpass innate talent by becoming a talented shinobi without possessing skills for Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. Having mastered the Eight Gates, it is speculated that he might have even surpassed Might Guy, his teacher.
In Boruto, we see him as the proctor of the Chūnin Exams for the third and final rounds. When Momoshiki and Kinshiki attack, he ends up protecting Shikadai.
12) Delta-
As a member of Kara, Delta is one of the antagonists of Boruto. She is a cyborg with a lot of dangerous powers at her disposal. She is sadistic in nature and is strong enough to fight Naruto on her own. Her body has been modified with scientific Ninja tools.
She can control a spy drone that is present on her back, can absorb chakra and release ninjutsu through her eyes, can modify her legs to fight, etc. As of now, she had been shut down by Amado.
11) Orochimaru-
Even though we don’t see the legendary Sannin as often as other characters, he is nonetheless one of the most powerful characters of Boruto.
Orochimaru is naturally a talented and prodigious entity with many powerful skills to boast of. He possesses a huge amount of chakra, enhanced physical abilities, many Ninjutsu techniques, etc. As he has modified his body several times while seeking immortality, it helps him quickly recover from any injuries.
10) Kashin Koji-
Kashin Koji is the former member of kara, a clone of Jiraiya formed by Amado. He is considered one of the strongest in Kara, arguably even more than Jigen. Being the clone of a Sannin, he is extremely strong, as he can use the same Ninjutsu as Jiraiya. He can also summon toads and can perform the Reverse Summoning Technique.
Apart from this, he also mastered the Fire and Earth release and is capable of using the Sage Mode. These qualities and many more effectively make him formidable.
9) Kakashi Hatake-
Even though in Boruto, Kakashi is not with his mighty Sharingan anymore, he still is one of the strongest characters in Boruto. The legendary 6th Hokage has all the other abilities that have nothing to do with Sharingan.
In the anime, we see how he can still take on multiple enemies and not miss a beat to kick their asses. As now he can’t use Chidori or Raikiri, he uses Purple Lightning which is considered the strongest lightning Jutsu.
And he manages to do that without making any hand signs. Though we are yet to see him in complete action, we are sure he can still make his enemies run for their money.
8) Sasuke Uchiha (with Rinnegan)-
As the only pureblood Uchiha, Sasuke is the strongest shinobi alive along with Naruto. He is termed the Shadow Hokage who protects the village from the shadows.
Most of his powers stem from his Kekkei Genkai, Sharingan and Rinnegan. Apart from that, he can also cast the most potent Genjutsu and has access to the power of Susanoo amongst other abilities.
7) Code-
Code is the current leader of Kara, after the demise of Isshiki. Just like Kawaki, Code was also one of the survivors of Jigen and Amado’s experiment, which gave him the power of White Kāma. With this seal, he has access to the power of a complete Ōtsutsuki.
Apart from being stronger than Jigen, Amado also believes that Code is more powerful than Naruto himself.
6) Eida-
Eida is one of the cyborgs modified by Amado along with her brother Daemon. We still have little information regarding her full power. Even Amado accepts that Eida is more powerful than Jigen.
She possesses the power of Senrigan, which gives her the power of clairvoyance. She can also use her presence to make anyone apart from her blood relatives fall in love with her, making them unable to harm her.
5) Daemon-
Daemon is the brother of Eida, who is also a cyborg created by Amado. He has a youthful appearance but an extremely twisted personality. Just like his sister, his abilities also exceed that of Jigen’s.
He is a skilled Taijutsu user and is able to defeat anyone only with his kick. Even his sister claimed that he is the only person other than members of the Ōtsutsuki clan who can overpower Eida.
4) Boruto Uzumaki (with Momoshiki)-
It is only natural that Boruto is one of the strongest characters in this franchise as his father is the 7th Hokage, and his mother is a kunoichi from the Hyuga clan. Being an elite ninja by birth, Boruto is deft at Ninjutsu and Taijutsu.
He can also perform nature transformations with a particular affinity towards Lightning release. He definitely can also use Rasengan which later transforms into a new power called Rasendan.
Boruto himself is very powerful, but after he gets the karma mark, he gets access to the power and experience of Momoshiki. In the latest manga chapters, we even see that he becomes a complete Ōtsutsuki after Momoshiki resurrects him.
3) Kawaki (with Isshiki)-
Kawaki is easily one of the most powerful characters in the Borutoverse. Due to the intense body modifications done on him to make him the perfect vessel for Ishhiki, his abilities surpass that of a normal Genin.
He has the ability to absorb all forms of Ninjutsu and can even produce weapons from his body. Apart from that, he’s also exceptionally physically strong.
He also possesses the karma mark, which gives him access to all the powers of Ishhiki Ōtsutsuki. With that, he can not only use Isshiki’s Dōjutsu but also other techniques like Sukunahikona, Disruption cubes, Daikokuten, etc.

2) Jigen / Isshiki Ōtsutsuki-
Jigen, under the influence of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, is one of the strongest antagonists of Boruto. Much of Isshiki’s powers could not manifest properly, as Jigen was not strong enough to handle them.
In his final battle with Naruto and Sasuke, he was powerful enough to beat them both. As a result, Naruto had to use his ultimate move and use his Baryon Mode to defeat Isshiki.

1) Naruto Uzumaki (Baryon Mode)-
Naruto can be considered the strongest of all characters in Boruto. As the current Hokage, the student of a Sannin and the son of the fourth Hokage, he is in a league of his own.
Apart from his Sage Mode and Six Paths Chakra, Naruto also possesses the Baryon Mode. It is arguably the deadliest and most powerful transformation in the series. In this mode, he can fuse his and Kurama‘s chakra, gaining a completely different form that gives unimaginable strength.
