10) Assassins Pride

The first anime about assassins on this list is 2019’s Assassins Pride. The anime is set in a world where mankind is on the brink of extinction and lives in glass domes to protect themselves from the fearsome lycanthropes.

The nobles of this world can use mana to defeat the lycanthropes. Melida Angel is a noble who can’t use mana and is provided with a tutor to help her. Her tutor, Kufa Vampir, unknown to her, is sent to assassinate her.

9) Riddle Story of Devil

Tokaku Azuma is the new transfer student of Class Black of the prestigious girls’ boarding school Myoujou Academy. There are 12 more students in the class, including one Haru Ichinose. Unknown to Haru, Tokaku and their other 11 classmates are all assassins, meant to kill Haru.

Every assassin will get one chance and if they fail, they will be suspended. Tokaku is determined to win this challenge until she begins to care for the sweet and lovable Haru.

After witnessing a guy burning a bus full of people with blue flames, high schooler Sakura Sakurakouji calls the police but turns out there’s no evidence left of the perpetrator. The next day Sakura meets her new classmate, Rei Oogami, who is the murderer she saw.

Despite Sakura’s accusations, no one believes that the seemingly sweet and polite Rei is the killer. But Sakura soon finds there is more to the killer than it appears.

Japanese photographer Maria Oosawa and her assistant Minoru Minorikawa are on an assignment in Shanghai. One day when they are caught in a crossfire of a fight, they are saved by Maria’s mysterious old friend Canaan.

Unknown to them, Canaan is an assassin and there is more to her past than she remembers. But when a virus outbreak is on the horizon, Canaan must face her memories.

Akame ga Kill! is one of the most popular anime about assassins, known for its brutal scenes and the deaths of its main characters. The story starts with a village boy named Tatsumi who comes to the city with his friends and is traumatized by the cruelty of people.

A dark tale of crime and blood, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is set in America where the mafia group Inferno is terrorizing the streets with the use of its human weapon called Phantom.

One day, a tourist ends up witnessing the latest murder of Phantom who turns out to be the leader of Inferno, a girl named Ein. When Ein catches him, she brainwashes him and turns him into a puppet of Inferno, devoid of any memory.

3) Darker Than Black

The world is changed forever when two supernatural gates suddenly appear in the sky one day: the Heaven’s Gate in South America and the Hell’s Gate in Japan. These gates can grant humans supernatural powers in exchange for their humanity and that is how the Contractors come to be.

10 years later, a mysterious and prolific Contractor named Hei is getting more and more infamous in the underworld, leading to Section 4 chief Misaki Kirihara investigating him.

2) Assassination Classroom

The government is thrown into chaos when a being suddenly appears and destroys 80% of the moon and promises to destroy the world in three months. Surprisingly, the being known as Koro takes up a job as the teacher of Class 3-E at Kunigigaoka Junior High.

Seeing this as an opportunity, the government promises great rewards to the student who is able to kill Koro-sensei. Now each student of the class is looking for a way to kill the indestructible Koro-sensei.

Westalis’ best spy Twilight is given a mission in Ostania where he assumes the identity of Loid Forger. He adopts a daughter named Anya who, unknowing to him, can read minds, and marries Yor Briar who is secretly an assassin, to maintain his alias. Hilarity ensues as each of them tries to hide their true identity from the others.
