As Wano heads towards its grand conclusion, all the fights are reaching their ends, with Sanji vs. Queen and Zoro vs. King ending in recent chapters. Both fights can arguably be called the best fights for both Sanji and Zoro in the series so far, with both of them facing their toughest opponents.

All that’s left is the fight between Yonkos and Supernovas to come to their conclusions, which will signal the shift in the world’s power balance with the fall of the Yonkos Big Mom and Kaido. With the World Government also ready to annex Wano, the conclusion of this arc is set to change One Piece forever.

Strawhats are facing their strongest foes in the form of Beast Pirates with their grand fleet composed of the All-Stars, the Tobi Roppo, and the Gifters. It’s the first time in a while that all straw hats are getting 1v1s with the monster trio facing the strongest members of the opponent crew.

Who is King?

King “The Wildfire” is an All-Star or Calamity of Beast Pirates and is the Right Hand Man of Yonko Kaido. He is a major antagonist in Wano. Born as Alber, he was recruited by Kaido to become his crew member when both were held captive as research subjects on Punk Hazard.

Kaido sets him free and asks him to be the first recruit of the Beast Pirates. There he is given his current name by Kaido in recognition of his great power. King was charmed by Kaido and believed he would be the one who would change the world and ultimately become the Pirate King.

He shows great loyalty and trust towards Kaido. He wears a head-covering mask that leaves only his eyes visible, with a crew member saying no one had ever caught a glimpse of his face until the fight vs. Zoro.

What Race is King?

King was born on the Grand Line in the Lunarian Tribe, which used to live on the top of the Red Line before Mary Geoise was built over it. In the chapter, it unveiled that King knows about Joyboy. It means that the Lunarian Tribe knew the history, One Piece, and truth of the ancient kingdom.

For this, the Lunarian Tribe were persecuted, and King was the last surviving member of the Lunarian Tribe. Being a Lunarian, he has wings on his back and can freely manipulate Fire. He is wanted by the World Government, who would go even far as offering millions of Berries for the smallest bit of information on him. Big Mom is also after him as Lunarian is one of the three species left in Totto Land.

What is King’s Bounty?

Being the only surviving member of the Lunarian Tribe, King is highly wanted by the World Government to conduct experiments on his race. His gigantic bounty of 1,390,000,000 Berries showcases his strength and fearsomeness.

He is shown to have the highest bounty of all characters, bar the crew leaders in the series so far even having a higher bounty than Big Mom’s right hand Katakuri.

How Strong is King?

Being Kaido’s right hand, he has the second-highest authority in Beast Pirates. He is extremely strong, which can be seen from his bounty. He is recognized as a “Calamity” due to his ability to destroy using fire. During the fight with Zoro, he proved to be his toughest opponent till Zoro was able to figure out his body’s secret and deal a decisive blow to him cutting his right-wing.

King’s Devil Fruit-

King ate an Ancient-Zoan devil fruit named Ryu Ryu no Mi Pteranodon model. This fruit grants him the ability to transform a Pteranodon, and he advanced it to reach the Pteranodon hybrid.

The fruit greatly enhances his physical abilities. He can use his wings as a shield and defend himself from attacks. In his hybrid form, he can use his wings as blades and unleash powerful slashes.

His beak has great piercing power, and it almost damages Sanji even though he was using his Raid suit. Moreover, he pulls back his face crest and catapults his head, and beak forward to unleash an attack that Zoro was unable to block.

King’s Haki-

1) Busoshoku Haki –

He is an expert in using Busoshoku Haki. He hardened his sword and managed to overpower Zoro’s Haki covered defence with powerful slashes of his sword. His Busoshoku Haki is strong as Katakuri’s.

2) Kenbunshoku Haki –

King uses Kenbunshoku Haki to predict and dodge attacks which strengthens his defences. He doesn’t have Haoshoku Haki, that’s why he has made his other two Haki very powerful and durable.

King’s Abilities-

1) Sword Breaker –

He wields a Katana which is a sword breaker with its blade having comb-like teeth which allow him to catch and pull swords. Also, he is a good swordsman. Even Zoro faced problems in fighting with him in a sword battle.

2) Immense Strength and Durable –

Being a Lunarian, he is extremely durable. He possesses immense strength being easily able to grab Raid Suit Sanji with one hand. He was able to take a direct hit of Zoro’s Shishi Sonson and came out unscathed.

3) Immense Speed –

Even though he’s huge, he is extremely fast and fragile. When his flames are out, he can move even faster although he loses his durability during which Zoro was able to cut him.

4) Fire Manipulation –

He can create and manipulate fire due to him being a Lunarian. He uses the fire to strengthen his attacks unleashing massive explosions on his opponent. Moreover, his suit facilitates hand to hand combat, with the spikes extending when he punches or kicks someone.

King vs. Katakuri | Who will win-

Katakuri was a major antagonist of the Whole Cake Island arc. He is Big Mom’s Right Hand Man. He played the role of Luffy’s main opponent in the arc, with him having a similar Paramecia Devil Fruit, which gave his body Mochi-like properties.

His Mochi is extremely thick and adhesive, allowing him to trap enemies. He can use all three types of Haki, and his Kenbunshoku Haki is so developed that he can see a little bit into the future.

With the help of his Devil Fruit and Haki, he can predict where an attack will land and turn that part into Mochi and absorb the damage. Moreover, his devil Fruit is awakened, allowing him to transform his surroundings into Mochi, enhancing the range of his attacks and using it to his advantage.

Comparing Katakuri to King, it is very hard to say who will come out on top with both of them extremely durable and fast. Both being their Captain’s Right-Hand Men also hold great authority over their respective fleets. Katakuri’s Devil Fruit is defensively stronger as it can absorb damage, while King’s Devil Fruit strengthens his offensive capabilities.

Both of them can use Busoshoku Haki to coat their attacks and increase their attack power considerably, although Katakuri has a clear advantage in Kenbunshoku Haki usage as he can use its advanced form to see a little bit into the future while King cannot do so meaning Katakuri can predict attacks and dodge them.

King vs. Marco | Who will win-

Marco the Phoenix used to be the 1st Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He was the Right-Hand man of Whitebeard. He is an ally of Luffy in Marineford and Wano. His bounty of 1,374,000,000 Berries is proof of his status in the world as one of the strongest Pirates in the Grand Line.

He took on the leadership of Whitebeard Pirates after the death of Edward Newgate in Marineford till their disbandment after their defeat against the Blackbeard Pirates in the Payback War.

Marco has the Tori Tori no Mi, a Mythical-Zoan type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into a phoenix and gains wings that allow him to fly. He creates the “Blue Flames of Resurrection,” which are stronger than normal fire and have tremendous healing properties. He rapidly self-regenerates from any damage he takes and uses Busoshoku Haki to strengthen his attacks.

Marco took on both King and Queen in a 2v1 and overpowered them. He did sustain some light injuries but eventually had to stop the fight due to exhaustion, although he did deal powerful blows to the duo during the fight.

He is extremely fast and has great endurance with self-regeneration allowing him to continue fighting without sustaining damage. If King were to take him on 1v1, it would be the toughest fight he’s ever faced. Both of them having birds as their hybrid forms would fight aerially, and King’s Pteranodon would come up against Marco’s Phoenix.

King has tremendous offensive capabilities while Marco has great defensive abilities, so more or less, this fight would be an equal battle between the two Right-Hand men.

Zoro vs. King | Explained-

Zoro fought King as the right-hand man and swordsman of the Strawhats. King was the toughest opponent he’s ever faced. Both pushed each other to their limits. Even being unfazed by taking a direct hit from Shishi Sonson, we can see King has insane durability.

Using his mask, he was able to make unblockable attacks. He used his Swordbreaker to catch Zoro’s swords but was unable to do so. We saw during his flashback that Kaido recruited him in the same manner as Zoro was recruited by Luffy, showing a nice parallel between the two.

King believed Kaido would be the one to change the world and become the Pirate King and promised him that he wouldn’t lose any fight. All this is exactly the same stuff as Zoro had promised Luffy after he lost to Mihawk in Baratie.

Zoro coated all three of his swords with advanced Conqueror’s Haki and unleashed The King of Hell Three Dragon Style 103 Senses Soaring Jigoku Dragon and cut King’s right-wing and Katana symbolizing Zoro breaking King’s will. The fight concludes perfectly as Zoro announces he will become the King of Hell.

How Strong is King in One Piece?

Overall comparing all of the Yonko right-hand men, King has incredible speed and durability for his size, although he lacks in his Haki application. Katakuri, with his Paramecia Devil Fruit, was overpowered, and he’s able to use all three types of Haki with advanced usage of Observation Haki, allowing him to see the future.

Luffy was only able to beat Katakuri because he damaged himself on his won with his trident. So far, he has been the best written Right Hand Man in the series, excluding Zoro with the most screentime.

Marco uses his flames to regenerate during battles allowing him to have extremely strong durability and attack power, although he lacks stamina.

Not much information is known on Benn Beckman and Shiryu of the Rain so far, as both have had barely any screentime. They can surely be amongst the strongest as even Admiral Kizaru was shown to be scared of Beckman when they met during Marineford. Shiryu, meanwhile, is an Impel Down level 6 Prisoner and has even got the Clear Clear Fruit, now allowing him to be invisible.

King is the strongest member of the Beast Pirates after Kaido and Zoro had a hard time beating him. Katakuri was the one who pushed Luffy to his limits, and Luffy had to overcome Katakuri using his willpower.

Comparison-

In the King vs. Marco fight, Marco was overpowering him till Marco ran out of stamina. So, overall ranking the right-hand men shown so far, it would be Katakuri>Marco>Zoro>King.

With the massive Yonko vs. Supernovas battles heating up, the Wano arc is set to be the greatest arc in Post Time skip One Piece. All of us are waiting for Wano to end and Oda to draw “That” panel and see the happenings of the world outside Wano.
