The Record of Ragnarok manga series began its venture into the world in 2017 and since then has risen in popularity. Its talented writers Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, and their amazing illustrating team Ajichika are definitely to thank for that. And so we bring to you the Top 30 Strongest Characters in Record of Ragnarok Ranked.

The manga series is beautifully and laboriously detailed and follows an immensely upbeat and heart-racing storyline that blurs the lines of who fans want to support. Its recent animation is now selectively up on Netflix. The plot of this manga revolves around a Gods’ Council Meeting that takes place every 1000 years and decides the fate of humanity.

With an entrancing blend of cultures, the manga depicts various gods who, after facing 7 million years of humankind, decide that mankind is beyond help and so must be eradicated.

Naturally, this doesn’t sit well with the eldest Valkyrie, Brunhilde, who taunts the gods to agree to grant humankind a chance to prove their worth in a 13 versus 13 battle called Ragnarok.

30) Simo Häyhä

Simo Häyhä, also known as “The White Death,” is also chosen to fight from the human team in Ragnarok. He is considered to be the most highly skilled sniper in human history with an elimination score of 500 men within 100 days. In his time, he was the greatest sniper.

Currently, he hasn’t appeared in the manga series but the author already revealed his design in an early Twitter poll. He was fighting in the Winter War with a sniper and a Karelian Bear Dog.

29) Michel Nostradamus

One of the most interesting characters in this list, Nostradamus is infamous for being the only human to stay in Helheim. He single-handedly almost destroyed the Bifrost and captured the attention of the Norse gods.

Brunhilde also refers to him as the Joker card, which might mean that he is more than what he looks. Even though he looks childish and harmless, he is the man who almost destroyed Bifrost. Along with this, Nostradamus also has a keen eye as he observes all the fights from atop.

28) Souji Okita

Souji Okita first debuted in chapter 30 of the manga and seemed to be a young boy itching to throw hands. According to records, this young male is the Captain of the first Shinsengumi, a special military-based police force, in Kyoto.

Although based in the Shogunate period, Souji Okita particularly was titled to be the Best Swordsman. With his current display of confidence and restlessness, we can already tell that the battle he fights is sure to be reckless, quick, and thrilling. 

27) Sakata Kintoki

Sakata looks like he is a close friend of Buddha and had met him previously. Buddha entrusts Sakata with a secret mission to find Siegfried.

This shows how much Buddha trusts Sakata and his guts. Along with this, Sakata is a muscular guy, who was popular in folklore for being a strong warrior. It is also said that he fend hordes of demons, during his time.

26) Siegfried

Siegfried only had a name drop, but that was enough to increase the excitement for fans. Buddha tells Sakata Kintoki that this is the man who will shake Ragnarok to its core.

Siegfried is more commonly known as the Dragon-slayer Hero and is very powerful. Just from his title alone, we can understand how powerful he was to slay a dragon. And to think, he achieved this feat with his power alone, is a terrifying thought. This alone makes him one of the strongest characters in the Record of Ragnarok.

25) Apollo

Apollo is also one of the Twelve Gods of Olympus and is commonly known as the Sun God. We saw that he was an extremely narcissistic individual, and cares a lot about his appearance.

He didn’t even feel sad, after hearing that Hercules, Poseidon, and Hades were three of the four gods who lost against Humanity. So far, we hadn’t seen his power yet, except for the fact that he wields a silver bow and arrow.

24) Leonidas

Leonidas is the human contestant in Round 9 of Record of the Ragnarok. He was also the King of Sparta and was also called the Greatest rebel in the History of Humanity. He despises all Gods, and mostly Apollo.

So far, we saw that he had made a fusion with Geirolul, 5th of the Valkyrie Sisters. Leonidas also has a dual-wield weapon, which could either transform into a shield or a Kusarigama type of weapon. With this, he also managed to land a hit on Apollo.

23) Jack the Ripper

Yes, the late 19th-century serial killer appears as a contestant for defending humanity in this series, and like before he doesn’t fail to impress.

In his fight against Heracles in Round 4, Jack displayed to us his excellent combat style, creative and manipulative thinking pattern, and a flurry of well-placed traps.

With his smart use of Volund and other mundane-turned-deadly materials, Jack ensured that his calculating genius put on a show worthy of praise.

It was probably his quickly calculated risks and quick thinking that caught us by surprise but the replaying of his blood towards the end is what blew minds beyond comprehension.

22) Loki

Loki is the Nordic God of Mischief and Deceit. He possesses the ability to shapeshift, can levitate, and can create portals.

His divine equipment manifests in the form of chains that have sickle-like ends that emerge from his palms. These chains emerge from portals in his palms. When clubbed with his intelligence and cunning personality can prove to be dangerous.

21) Bishamonten 

Bishamonten was a tall and muscular man, and also the leader of the Seven Lucky Gods. He can be called as the strongest of them all, and his title is the Shinto God of Fortune in War and Battles.

Along with the other Lucky Gods, he also has several different fusions with them. Bishamonebisu, Bishamonebisuhotei, and Zerofuku are just a few of his fusion character names, which make him very powerful.

20) Ares

Ares is the Greek God of Strength and Fortitude who specializes in the art of war. Being skilled in all things war, he is also blessed with godly strength and battle sense.

He was strong enough to hold his own against Ambrosia’s drunk Heracles. Further, he also has a deep understanding and experience of the use and deflection of attacks.

19) Adamantine

Adamantine also originally known as Adamas, was one of the Greek Gods. He was the God of Conquest and was a strong god who was feared far and wide.

Later, Poseidon finished him off, and his name was erased from the Gods. But, after a bit of research, he came back to life using Beelzebub’s technology.

With this, he grew stronger, having more advanced regenerative skills and durability. Adamantine could build himself back easily, with mechanical parts if he gets severely injured.

18) Kronos

Kronos was the strongest Titan, as well as the father of Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and Adamas. Zeus himself said that Kronos was a very strong man, but a bad father. Kronos was also the original user of the Fist that Surpassed Time.

However, even with this, he wasn’t able to win against his youngest son Zeus. Kronos still managed to land only one hit on Zeus, in their match. His being the strongest Titan is the reason why he is on this list of Strongest characters in Record of Ragnarok.

17) Zerofuku

Chapter 44 of the manga introduced us to Zerofuku, a seemingly young sponge of misery, quite literally. Zerofuku is the fusion of the 7 Gods of Luck, Bishamonten, but is the God of Misfortune.

However, Zerofuku is no weakling, he possesses immense strength that lets him freely use his divine ax called the Misery Cleaver at high speeds.

He also has complete control over the misfortune which he can willingly absorb and then channel into his Misery Cleaver, causing it to grow in size and destructive power as his misery increases. Further combined with a stubborn, self-centered, and hot-headed personality as he swings, Zerofuku will hit.

16) Heracles

Heracles is a former human who ascended to godhood after drinking Ambrosia and fighting for the gods against Jack the Ripper.

Already blessed with a desire for justice, Jack became a despicable foe and thus showed us his Zeus-like strength, unholy endurance of pain, and will to fight and protect.

His Herculean Exodus and 12 divine techniques would make any foe quake in their boots. But his use of his divine club and the 12th Herculean labor- Cerberus which is the summoning of the powers of a hellhound was truly terrifying.

15) Raiden Tameemon

Raiden, also known as the Peerless Rikishi, is a famous Japanese sumo wrestler and is said to have the strongest muscles in human history.

With his bare debut in chapter 31 and his unique manifestation of Volund, Raiden displayed an amazing feat of strength in his fight against Shiva. He fought on par with Shiva, even in his unreleased state, and even tore away three of his arms. 

Especially after crushing the god’s arm, he even further exceeded his muscle capacity and formed a wall of flesh that deflected the cauterizing blows of the God of Destruction. The feats Raiden achieved in his match, are definitely out of the park and make him one of the strongest characters in Record of Ragnarok. 

14) Lü Bu

We met the Flying General in chapter 1 of the series and he is said to be the Strongest in the Three Kingdoms. His immensely powerful physical strength and quick reflexes and thinking capacity allowed him to challenge Thor head-on.

And the fact that he was able to take on Thor’s hammer is impressive considering the amount of strength it required. He also possesses divine equipment called the Sky Piercer, a Volund which allows him to perform a special attack called the Sky Eater which splits the sky into two.

13) Shiva

The Hindu God of Destruction made his debut in chapter 1, has 4 arms and a third eye which makes him more open to a variety of attack patterns and a wider range.

However, his true ability lies in his war dances. One of these is the Hidden Treasure of Svarga which increases his attack speed while rendering his attack pattern unreadable.

The second is the Tandava which increases his heart rate, attack speed, and body temperature to literal scalding levels. The third and most fatal war dance is the Tandava Karma which causes his body to combust from the inside out and cauterize his opponents and ultimately turn them into ash.

12) Poseidon

Poseidon, the prideful God of the Seas specializes in hydrokinesis and showed us so in Round 3. His divine equipment is a trident that helps in delivering quick powerful blows.

His divine technique Amphitrite is a trident attack that follows a circular pattern and when accompanied by divine lightning, causes great damage.

The continual barrage of trident attacks at lightning speed causes the formation of after images of water. And further, his 40-Day Flood attack encompasses his opponent in a dome of water that is formed from the afterimages of swift trident attacks.

11) Kojiro Sasaki

Kojiro Sasaki is known as history’s greatest loser and was introduced to us in chapter 13 of the manga series. He has a unique affinity for Sword Art and later came to be known as the strongest swordsman.

His ability to quickly evolve techniques and strengths that help them grow in ability, his immense observational power, and his hunger to grow stronger are what grant him victory in most situations.

The power of visualization and his Thousand Image Defense allows him to analyze opponents and predict their movements through visual training. he is also able to fight someone and immediately copy and reproduce their sword style. and has immense reflex control that helps him practice the Ganryu style. 

10) Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla is a human fighter, who fought in Round 8 against Beelzebub. Even against an opponent like Beelzebub, he still managed to stay alive with his crafty moves. 

If it was any other god, Nikola could have easily been able to win over them, using his wits and his quirky moves. Even in his fight, many gods were confused with his moves and his set of tactics.

His intelligence alone is on a different level above the gods and lent him this strength. He can always come up with new quirky counters, which makes him one of the strongest characters in Record of Ragnarok. Tesla can freely levitate, teleport, and heavily attack his opponents within his Gematria zone.  

9) Beelzebub

Beelzebub is a god of the Abrahamic Pantheon known as the Lord of the Flies. He appears in Round 6 as a mysterious presence and is one of the fighters for Gods in Round 8.

As far as we know, he is greatly interested in experimentation and was able to collect and form Hajun. Beelzebub is a very skilled fighter, who was even recognized by Hades himself.

And the sheer number of abilities and attacks he has, is also a valuable point to consider. And he has a multitude of skills at his use, and his terrifying power makes him one of the strongest characters in Record of Ragnarok. 

8) Hajun

Hajun is titled the Demon Lord of the Sixth Heaven as he suddenly appeared and destroyed half of Hellheim. Although he emerged from Zerofuku, their personalities are nothing alike.

So far, Hajun has only used his Heaven Piercing Demon Drill which has managed to plow through Buddha’s defenses. Further, he happens to have an immense amount of raw strength that is capable of large-scale destruction.

7) Buddha

The series depicted Buddha as a self-centered egoist who hates the Gods, thus making him side with humanity for the heck of it.

Being one of the 4 Sages, he is blessed with quick reflexes, great strength, and surprising flexibility. Armed with his Six Realms Staff and his Eighth Sense which lets him see moments into the future, gained after enlightenment, he is a dodgy opponent to deal with.

However, his most impressive technique displayed so far has to be the Eleven-Faced Kannon- Ahimsa which converts his divine equipment into a shield of Buddhist scriptures.

6) Hades

Hades is the Greek God of the Underworld and the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. He is also regarded as, “The God Whom Other Gods Rely on the Most,” because he can do anything for his brothers. Hades is very powerful in terms of brute strength no one can compare him.

He fought against Qin Shi Huang in the seventh round of the Ragnarok from the Gods team. Hades surpassed the undefeated king with his powerful abilities and strength. Qin Shi was severely injured, lost his arm, and was just about to be defeated against him.

But in the end, Qin Shi Huang showed his sheer Will and best defensive move to defeat Hades in one on one fight. Here, many fans can contradict to put Hades over Qin Shi Huang because he was powerful but in the end, Shi Huang was the winner.

5) Qin Shi Huang

Qin Shi Huang, real name, “Ying Zheng,” was the First Emperor of Qin who was known as an undefeated king in his lifetime. He fought against Hades in the seventh round of the Ragnarok.

Ying Zheng has too much brute strength still he was not able to surpass Hades in terms of power. However, he has incredible techniques and sheer Will power that helps him to fight till the end and lastly, he managed to defeat Hades.

No doubt Hades was more powerful than him but his Shi Huang has overpowering defensive abilities. His defensive ability was very good and was the deciding factor in his winning match.

He can also see the Qi flow of anyone that helps him to obstruct any powerful moves. Qin Shi Huang is a very unique human, who is very powerful and made it into the top 5 strongest characters in Record of Ragnarok.

4) Thor

Thor the God of Thunder is known as the strongest Nordic Warrior and God. his strong physical attributes help him wield Mjolnir single-handedly and it’s also helped him defeat 66 Jottuns by himself.

He also possesses the power of electrokinesis which allows the lightning through his divine equipment and obliterate his opponent.

This technique Thor’s Hammer allows the summoning of lightning and imbues Mjolnir with it. His other technique Geirrod allows him to throw Mjolnir and causes a boomerang effect which doubles the destructive power after it returns. In its awakened state, Mjolnir turns molten with electricity ensuring his opponent’s defeat.

3) Odin

The manga series depicts Odin as an aged man with an eyepatch, weirdly styled hair, and two ravens on his shoulder who possibly communicate for him.

Even though we haven’t seen a large-scale display of Odin’s powers yet, so far, we know that he possesses the wisdom to see through bluffs like those of Loki.

This leads us to assume that trying to bluff him or use feints while fighting him might not prove to be effective. This fan favorite’s ability to copy and counter an attack before completely seeing it lands him in the number 2 spot on this list. He was the only character who ever came close to defeating the most powerful Gods of time.

And as he uses his knuckleduster Volund to fight to the death to grant humanity hope, he is also one of the most likable characters. Adam is no doubt the strongest human and is among the top 2 strongest characters in the Record of Ragnarok series.

1) Zeus

Zeus is known as the Godfather of the Cosmos and chairman of the Gods Council. Although he seems frail, he is possibly one of the strongest Gods in Nordic history.

In a fight between Heracles and Ares, he managed to take a punch from both sides and effectively stop the fight. He also produces a punch of 0.01 seconds and has a divine technique called Meteor Jab which allows it to produce rapid punches that move 10 times faster.

His other technique called The Fist that Surpasses Time is known for being the strike in his fight against Kronos, the personification of time, which causes time to halt.

In his final form called Adamas, Zeus compresses his muscles and is even able to destroy the heavens. Zeus’s overall strength makes him the strongest character in the Record of Ragnarok.

Hermes

Hermes is mostly known as the Messenger of the Gods. From what we’re aware of, his divine equipment is most likely his violin.

Hermes most probably has a power related to music or violin manipulation. Further, he proved to be more skilled than Ares in understanding the execution of most attacks.
