15 Male Cartoon Characters With Glasses

Last updated on October 30th, 2025 at 02:29 pm

Wearing glasses was once considered “nerdy” or “dorky” in earlier times. Or it was often used as a character design choice to signify a character being highly intelligent. Everyone is different, of course, and just wearing glasses doesn’t mean you are any of those things.

As the times are changing, more and more people are seeing glasses as a fashion statement. They are stylish and sophisticated and add a bit of charm to the overall design of a character. Not to mention, they definitely make a character design more memorable.

Today, we will be talking about 15 Male Cartoon Characters With Glasses. Since we will be adding both old and new series, the above-mentioned traits may or may not be a major part of the character’s personality, depending on when the cartoon was released.

Due to the sheer amount of characters with glasses in anime, we won’t be including them. But be on the lookout for an anime character list in the future!

15 Male Cartoon Characters With Glasses

15. Doc Dwarf

Doc Dwarf

Cartoon Name: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Hearing this name is a throwback, isn’t it? Most of the time, when we think of the seven dwarfs who helped snow white live in the desolate forest, we don’t really think of them individually. But we will say Doc Dwarf stood out.

He is underrated but has a unique personality. And how can we forget that he is the leader of the dwarves? His tinted glasses that lightly rest on his nose are reflective of his wise and calm nature.

14. The White Rabbit

The White Rabbit

Cartoon Name: Alice in Wonderland

Here’s a character that barely appeared yet stole the show. When you think of Alice in Wonderland, Mr. White Rabbit is one of the first characters that pop into your mind. After all, he is the one who started the chain of events in the story.

His dapper tuxedo, round glasses, and watch is what entice Alice to follow him. That and his shaky voice and hurried tone as he scrambles away to reach on time.

13. Chuckie Finster

Chuckie Finster

Cartoon Name: Rugrats

Second oldest of the five rugrats, Chuckie is one of the most interesting characters on the show. He may just be two, but he is brave, loyal, and just wants to have fun with his friends. However, his irrational fear of specific objects and scenarios often leads them into trouble.

His most iconic features are his fiery red hair, buck teeth, and purple thick-rimmed glasses. Chuckie can often be seen accompanying Tommy.

12. Gepetto

Gepetto

Cartoon Name: Pinocchio

Another classic from Disney. After, they have brought too many iconic stories and character designs to the big screen. Gepetto and his wooden creation, Pinocchio, are among them.

An old, kind woodcarver who wants to have a son is how we can describe him. He also has a whimsical streak and gleefully spends most of his time working on unique creations in his workshop. It’s subtle, but his square glasses add to his soft personality.

11. Milhouse Van Houten

Milhouse Van Houten

Cartoon Name: The Simpsons

The best of friends to Bart Simpson (is he really?), Milhouse Van Houten, is one of the recurring characters of the famous American sitcom, The Simpson. He is nervous, insecure, and often bullied. Although his glasses make him seem like a nerd, he has a pretty average intelligence.

Milhouse has poor social skills and is a bundle of nerves around girls.

10. Clyde McBride

Clyde McBride

Cartoon Name: The Loud House

The Loud House has been creeping up to be one of the best cartoons of the present year. We are sure you must have seen the main character, Lincoln, pop up here and there. And the unique art style of the series really makes it easy to recognize.

Clyde McBride is part of the major cast of the series. Lincoln’s best friend and wingman in his exploits, Clyde, is an African-American kid who was adopted by the gay couple Howard and Harold. He is often seen wearing big round glasses and a blue-and-yellow-striped turtleneck. Clyde is sweet, intelligent, nerdy, and a bit awkward at times.

9. Arthur Read

Arthur Read

Cartoon Name: Arthur

Your neighbourhood-friendly aardvark, Arthur Read is the eponymous protagonist of the series Arthur. The name must be an instant click in your brain since we can say, without a doubt, that Arthur is one of the series that made our childhood shine.

Arthur wears brown glasses with a round frame. He appears as a typical average person (as typical as an aardvark can be) studying in Mr. Ratburn’s third-grade (and later fourth-grade) class at Lakewood Elementary School. He enjoys reading books and loves the library.

8. Rick Mitchell

Rick Mitchell

Cartoon Name: The Mitchells vs. the Machines

Personally, Rick Mitchell has quickly grown to be our favorite animated dads of all time. Yes, he is old-fashioned, and yes, he nags his daughter a lot, but which dad doesn’t?

The Father of Katie and Aaron Mitchell and husband of Linda Mitchell, Rick Mitchell, is the deuteragonist of the movie. His and Katie’s complicated relationship is one of the main conflicts of the movie. But it quickly becomes apparent that he only has her best interest in his mind. Not to mention, he actually tries hard to meet his daughter in the middle (despite being stubborn in the beginning).

7. Simon Seville

Simon Seville

Cartoon Name: Alvin and the Chipmunks

Moving on with (arguably) the best chipmunks out there. The deuteragonist of the series and the smartest, possessing an I.Q. that even Einstein will shy away from, Simon Seville is an adorable little fella. Granted, his humor is kiiiiiind of dry, but he makes it up with his keen wit.

It’s difficult to call Chipmunk stylish, but Simon definitely dresses to impress (Jeanette?). Often seen rocking a blue hoodie or sweater, Simon’s choice of round glasses indeed compliments his face nicely.

6. Carl Fredricksen

Carl Fredricksen

Cartoon Name: UP

Not the stepdad but the dad (grandad?) who stepped up. Carl Fredrickson is the protagonist of Disney’s UP. He appears bitter and mean, but the first 5 minutes of the movie make it pretty apparent that he is just a lonely old man, kind deep down. Wanting to fulfill his dead wife’s wish of going to Paradise Falls, he gives his everything to make it happen, even blowing 10,000 helium balloons to lift his house and navigate there.

Even though he finds him annoying in the beginning, he develops a connection with the boisterous Russell (and Dug) throughout the movie. He is undoubtedly one of the most adorable characters wearing glasses.

5. Mr. Peabody/Sherman

Sherman and Mr. Peabody

Cartoon Name: Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Next is our first and only double entry of the article. We thought a lot about who to give the spot, but you have to agree that both these characters’ designs are quite cool in their own sense, which is why this classic Dreamworks film has a title including both their names.

A dog being the dad of a human child may be a tad bit weird. But you must agree that nothing beats that dad being a genius inventor and scientist. Oh, did we mention that Peabody actually uses his time travel machine to teach Sherman about history? We bet history would be more loved if we had that option.

4. Peter Griffin

Peter Griffin

Cartoon Name: Family Guy

Peter Griffin is one of the most recognizable animated faces out there, not just in the West. After all, who hasn’t heard of Family Guy? A caricature of a typical American Family guy, Peter Griffin is a stereotypical blue-collar employee who isn’t very smart. He is also jealous and sometimes feels insecure about his relationship with Louis.

Peter often wears a white shirt tucked into a pair of green trousers. His glasses are not that noticeable since the art style makes it seem that they are incorporated into his eyes.

3. Johnny

Johnny

Cartoon Name: Johnny Bravo

The dorky Chad Johnny Bravo is another incredibly recognizable character. His huge pompadour, black sunglasses (yes, they count as glasses), and tight black tee compliment his over-the-top confident personality.

His own world may not be privy to his charm, but we can’t help but smile at his antics. His classy character design is nothing short of legendary, and you have to admit that the guy is nothing if not consistent.

2. Dexter

Dexter

Cartoon Name: Dexter’s Laboratory

Cartoon Network is a huge part of many’s childhoods. And what is more iconic than its very first cartoon cartoon? Dexter is basically the father of the “nerd with glasses” stereotype. A young genius prodigy whose favorite way to spend time is with his inventions in his secret laboratory. Nothing gets more nerdy than that.

Despite being a genius, Dexter’s life isn’t perfect, as he is constantly being annoyed by his big sister DeeDee. Frustrating siblings are one thing, but his life is never peaceful, as he often has to deal with his nefarious classmate Mandark and his villainous antics.

1. Milo James Thatch

Milo James Thatch

Cartoon Name: Atlantis

Among all the Disney films, Atlantis: The Lost Empire is definitely the one that deserves more love and recognition. The movie is basically perfect with its charming art and character designs, incredible score, and unique story. And none can be successful without its dorky but lovable protagonist.

Milo James Thatch is a linguist and cartography expert who doesn’t seem to get much favored by life, but then lady luck strikes, and he is suddenly leading a top-secret expedition into the lost city of Atlantis! Milo is not just a simple nerd with poor social skills. In fact, he is quite charming and daring, pulling off one of the most dangerous feats by the end of the movie.

And that is the end of our list! We hope that you enjoy this list. As part of the glasses-lover club, we hope to bring you more such fun articles in the future.

Until then!
