Top 15 Best Demon Slayer Fights (Manga)-

  • 15) Tanjiro vs Kyogai –

Starting at the fifteenth position, we put the first of Tanjiro’s fights in the series, i.e., Kamado Tanjiro vs. Kyogai. Kyogai was one of the most interesting demons who had appeared in the initial arcs of the series. He was once Lower Moon 6 but was demoted by Muzan to an ordinary demon.

He had six Tsuzumi drums on his body and a big mansion. Beating each, he could control the rooms in the mansion, mainly rotating them and changing their places. He could also launch slashing claw attacks.

Tanjiro uses his Water Breathing Technique to deal with him. But it became a challenge for him to approach the demon since he kept playing the Tsuzumi drums. It was exhausting and entrapping. Then Tanjiro came up with the idea to read the function of each drum. Soon he managed to get close and cut off his head.

  • 14) Kamado Tanjiro, Kamado Nezuko, Tamayo, and Yushiro vs Susamaru and Yahaba –

Our fourteenth position is for the fight that had taken place in the Asakusa Arc. Nezuko, Tanjiro, Tamayo, and Yoshiro had to fight the two demons sent by Kibutsuji Muzan. One demon was Susamaru, who fans recognize as the Temari Demon, and the other was Yahaba, who could control directions with his Arrows.

This fight has already been animated in Season 1. Readers and viewers were both awestruck to see the intelligent weaponizing of the Japanese Temari balls armed with Directions and Arrows. The Asakusa antagonists managed to cause a lot of damage. Yoshiro, Nezuko, and Tamayo dealt with Susamaru. With the assistance of the first two, Tamayo used her Blood Demon Art, Blood Bewitchment: Magical Aroma of Daylight, and got Susamaru crushed.

On the other hand, Tanjiro, who was painfully struggling to beat Yahaba’s arrows, learned to efficiently combine his Water Breathing moves to counter him. He used the third form and the sixth form to negate arrows’ kinetic energy. Then with Improved Lateral Water Wheel severed Yahaba’s head. Yet, he was still forced to defend himself from the arrows until Yahaba evaporated.

  • 13)  Muichiro Tokito, Kamado Tanjiro, Kamado Nezuko, Shinazugawa Genya, and Kanroji Mitsuri vs Hantengu –

Swordsmith Village is the home of Nichirin Swordsmiths and is apparently a hidden place. But still, a demon-like Upper Moon: 4 Hantengu had successfully sneaked in by dulling his presence.

Dealing with Hantengu can only be defined as laborious. He came in as one but cutting his head only divided him into more powerful enemies- Sekido (Anger), Karaku (Joy), Aizetsu(Sorrow), Urogi (Pleasure), Hantengu (Fear), Zohakuten (Hatred), and Urami (Resentment).

So first, it took Muichiro and Tanjiro’s skills to cut him into Sekido and Karaku. In contrast, Karaku threw Muichiro out of the battlefield. Then they divided into Aizetsu and Urogi. Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko were left to fight the demons. The Main body Hantengu kept himself hidden. He was smaller in size and had a snape hard to decapitate. Then Sekido absorbed Karaku, Aizetsu and Urogi to become Zohakuten.

Love Hashira: Kanroji Mitsuri came to back up her junior demon slayers and stalled him while the rest went after the main demon. Again, Hantegu turned into another emotion Urami who was bigger. In the end, Tanjiro managed to eliminate him with Yoriichi Type Zero‘s sword.

  • 12) Muichiro Tokito vs Gyokko –

This fight between the Mist Hashira: Muichiro Tokito and Upper Moon 5: Gyokko presented to us the best of Tokito’s abilities. He had been fighting Upper Moon 4: Hantengu alongside Tanjiro. Then ended up getting thrown far by Karaku’s fan weapon.

He fell towards Swordsmith Village’s forest. He saw Kotetsu being attacked by a demon. Protecting him, he had to face Gyokko. Tokito kept on evolving as he fought Gyokko. We saw a fantastic display of the Mist Breathing Techniques.

Gyokko could use vases to teleport and entrap humans. But after Tokito remembered his past, we soon got to see how overpowered he was. Tokito got colossal character development. He reformed as he learned the value of selflessness and concern. He quickly defeated the Vase Demon, trapping him in his mist.

  • 11) Uzui Tengen, Kamado Tanjiro, Agatsuma Zenitsu, Hashibira Inokuke vs Gyutaro –

Tengen vs Gyutaro

In the Entertainment District ArcUzui Tengen faced Upper Moon 6: Gyutaro and his sister Daki. After Nezuko beats Daki, Tengen too easily cuts off her head. But soon, Gyutaro revealed himself emerging from his sister’s body.

This is one of the demon slayers’ best fights. Gyutaro turned out to be extremely powerful. He used poisoned sickles with his attacks fused with immense speed. On the other hand, Tengen displayed the strength of the Sound Breathing Techniques. But his attacks were made limited after he got poisoned.

Eventually, Tanjiro entered the battle and assisted Tengen. Meanwhile, Zenitsu and Inosuke fought a regenerated Daki. Gyutaro, though, pretty quickly injured and knocked out Tengen, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. Everyone was worn out and exhausted except Gyutaro until he was slowed down by wisteria poison inflicted by Tanjiro. In the end, they all succeeded in getting Gyutaro and Daki’s head.

  • 10) Inosuke vs Spider Demon –

Remember the Spider Family? Inosuke and Tanjiro had come across the Spider Father Demon with mammoth strength on the Natagumo Mountain. This was the fight that had given a considerable blow to Inosuke’s self-confidence.

The two first tried to attack the demon. Inosuke failed to land any damage, and Tanjiro failed to cut the arms. Both were pushed back by the demon, who then chased Inosuke. Tanjiro had cut a tree to fall upon the Spider Father. But just as he was about to take the chance to get his head, he was thrown far away by him.

Inosuke struggled alone to find a way to fight the demon. But soon got caught by his massive hands that were ready to crush his head entirely. Thankfully he got rescued by Tomioka Giyu, to whose sword slashes the Spider Father was not invincible.

  • 9) Kamado Tanjiro, Kamado Nezuko and Tomioka Giyu vs Rui –

For the ninth position, we recall the Spider Family’s head Lower Moon 5: Rui. Tanjiro fought Rui but faced extreme difficulty with Nezuko as a hostage. We got to see the spotlight of the battle when Tanjiro’s memory reminded him a step of Hinokami Kagura and Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art was activated.

Tanjiro managed to sever his head. At the right time, then Gotouge inserted the idea that getting to a demon’s neck may not always mean success. Rui faked detachment and trapped Tanjiro.

And finally, when we thought Tanjiro was in big trouble, Giyu entered and calmly walked towards an overconfident Rui and, in less than a second, perfectly detached his head with a single slash.

  • 8) Nezuko vs Daki –

This is the fight that had taken place just before Uzui Tengen had entered the battlefield in the Entertainment District Arc. A deadly fight had broken out between Nezuko and Daki. It took place only for a short while but indeed had the best impact on the arc.

Daki tried to cut an unconscious Tanjiro’s head. This infuriated Nezuko to the extent of her developing her demon form. She grew bigger with patterns on her body.

Nezuko used her kick attacks. Daki many times tried to slash her with her obi. It instead had an opposing reaction. That only developed Nezuko’s regeneration speed. The battle finished with Nezuko blowing away Daki with her Blood Demon Art and burning her right side.

  • 7) Hashibira Inosuke and Kamado Tanjiro vs Enmu –

From the Mugen Train Arc, animated in the Mugen Train movie last year, we place here Tanjiro’s fight with the train terrorizing demon Enmu. The Upper Moon 1: Enmu had turned the entire train into his own body.

The fight intensified with Tanjiro and Inosuke endeavoring to find Enmu’s head. It turned out to be in the area around the coal engine. Enmu kept trying to protect his nape by covering it with more demon flesh. He created walls around the sensitive area and used the Blood Demon Art: Eyes of Forced Unconscious Sleep.

Tanjiro kept cutting his neck in his dream to wake up. Inosuke, meanwhile, was protected from the eyes because of his boar head. They made incessant slashes upon the skin, regenerating and finally cut-off the neckbone. The train fell down the rail tracks, and the two fell down.

  • 6) Kocho Shinobu, Tsuyuri Kanao and Inosuke vs Doma –

Shinobu, Kanao and Inosuke vs Doma

Insect Hashira: Kocho Shinobu really proved here that poison as a weapon should never be underestimated. Counted as the sixth-best among demon slayer best fights, it fueled the power of wisteria poison. Besides breathing styles and beheading, Wisteria threatens demonic existence.

The first fight inside the Infinity Castle took place between Shinobu and Upper Moon 2: Doma. Doma was not only Flower Hashira: Kocho Kanae‘s murderer but also of Inosuke’s mother, Hashibira Kotoha.

Doma’s ability allowed him to use two fans as weapons and ice as his primary element. He won and absorbed Shinobu. Then he fought Kanao, who displayed excellent visual prowess. Then Inosuke entered the battlefield and landed slashes from a distance. Doma created ice dolls as powerful as him to deal with the duo and began to leave.

Just then, the readers were met with a surprise, and we were glad to find out that it all had been Shinobu’s plan since the start. The poison was in Shinobu’s body and had started working.

Just as instructed by her, Kanao flashed forward to cut Doma’s decomposing head. She activated the seventh form of Flower Breathing which allowed her to see the movements slowly at the risk of losing eyesight in the aftermath. And we stand astonished at what a profoundly strong Demon Slayer she was. Her body was still freezing; with Inosuke’s support, Doma’s neck was severed.

  • 5) Giyu and Tanjiro vs Akaza –

Giyu and Tanjiro vs Akaza

At the fifth position, we have Tanjiro and Giyu vs. Upper Moon 3: Akaza‘s fight in the Infinity Castle. All our memories of Rengoku Kyojuro were revived here too.

Akaza seemed excited to fight Tanjiro, who had survived their first encounter. He readily attacked them. And impressed with Giyu’s abilities acknowledged his skills. But the most important aspect of the fight was when Tanjiro decrypted the idea of Akaza’s ‘battle spirit‘ and the ‘see-through world.’

From the remnants of his childhood memory, he remembered his father’s skills to negate attack intent. And combined it with Inosuke’s explanation of his beast senses. Tanjiro entered the see-through world and succeeded in decapitating Akaza’s head. Then we learned about Akaza’s human past full of misfortunes. The Upper Moon 3 could regenerate his head, but he withered away after recalling his past. With gratitude and a smile for Tanjiro, he bid farewell.

  • 4) Kyōjurō Rengoku Vs Akaza –

Rengoku Vs Akaza

Just like the Enmu battle, this fight too was animated in the Mugen Train movie last year. As the Mugen Train Arc appeared to reach its close with Enmu defeated, Upper Moon 3: Akaza appeared. The Flame Pillar, even though he had come from fighting the train monster a few minutes ago, went toe-to-toe with Akaza.

We saw Kyōjurō’s memories of the past and were bonding more and more with the character. Akaza was highly impressed with him and kept asking him to join Muzan’s army.

Akaza began to admire his opponent to the point that when he managed to injure him in his solar plexus, he got disappointed. And yet Kyojuro, on the verge of death, only through sheer will kept trying to cut off Akaza’s head. Although it seemed that Akaza wanted to fight by fair means, facing his enemy head-on, it was a shame the sun began to rise, and he had to run away.

  • 3) Zenitsu vs Kaigaku –

Zenitsu vs Kaigaku

So who would want to take their eyes off the screen when Zenitsu enters the battle mode!?

Agatsuma Zenitsu is that one underdog character whom everyone can’t help but love. Beforehand, he appeared as a weak side character, absolutely underrated. He was only able to learn the first form of Thunder Breathing. He was unconfident and was unaware of how overpowering his expertise of the first form was.

His powers are speed accompanied by a single lethal blow. In the Infinity Castle Arc, we were blessed with a major evolution in his powers when Zenitsu defeated the Upper Moon 6: Kaigaku with his own created form. Thunder Breathing, Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami. In the blink of an eye, Kaigaku’s head was separated from his body.

Kaigaku was none another than his senior who knew all Thunder forms. Although short, this is indubitably one of the most bewitching and best fight scenes in demon slayer. Zenitsu not only fought in his conscious state but even slew it. Koyoharu Gotouge has really drawn Thunder Breathing scenes beautifully. And we all are desperately waiting for them to be animated.

  • 2) Muichiro, Sanemi and Himejima vs Kokushibo –

Muichiro, Sanemi and Himejima vs Kokushibo

This fight really left some great damages. Upper Rank 1: Kokushibo was the second most powerful demon after Muzan. Even four demon slayers, out of which three were Hashiras, had a hard time eliminating him.

We rate it second because it was in every sense intense, with first Muichiro losing his left arm and left foot. Then his sword and Himejima and Sanemi’s Nichirin Blade turned red. Genya evolved his Blood Demon Art after consuming Kokushibo’s hair and sword piece. And Kokushibo kept stubbornly regenerating his sword and his body.

We especially got to look more into Tsugikuni Yoriichi‘s life through Kokushibo. Kokushibo was revealed to be Tsugikuni Michikatsu, who was Yoriichi’s elder twin. Primarily, we got an impressive display of the Moon Breathing Technique and also Kokushibo’s skillful swordsmanship.

In the end, the team of four was successful in wrecking him at the cost of Genya and Muichiro’s lives. Sanemi’s true intentions and love for Genya were revealed. And Muichiro, proud and satisfied, united with his elder twin in the afterlife.

  • 1) Last fight: Demon Slayer Corps vs Kibutsuji Muzan –

The last fight: Kibutsuji Muzan vs the Demon Corps

Demon Slayer Corps vs. Muzan, being the last fight of the series, left no effort to make it the grandest of all we had seen till now. The entire Demon Corps, including Tamayo and Yushiro, gave a solid push to Muzan towards his fall. The strategy was to lead Muzan into the sunlight to defeat him.

Muzan had succeeded in evolving and consuming Tamayo. Giyu and Tanjiro were the first to counter him. Then Mitsuri and Serpent Hashira: Iguro Obanai joined. Yushiro manipulated the Biwa Demon, who was controlling the Infinity Castle interfering with the information of the castle reaching Muzan.

Muzan defeated her, resulting in the castle crumbling and everyone landing in the open. The other Demon Slayers, who were non-Hashiras, worked together to act as shields for Hashiras and Tanjiro.

Poisoned by Muzan’s blood, in his dying state, Tanjiro saw his ancestor Sumiyoshi‘s memory. There, he learned about Muzan’s power and weaknesses from Yoriichi. He also learned the Sun Breathing Techniques since, on Suyako’s request Yoriichi showed them the Breathing Forms.

Himejima and Sanemi joined the fight. Iguro, Sanemi, and Giyu reddened their swords. Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Kanao also entered the battlefield. Muzan knocked them out with grave injuries.

Then Tanjiro gaining consciousness, fought Muzan with all the twelve Hinokami Kagura forms. Tamayo’s poison worked on Muzan, taking effect on his aging and cell destruction. His movements slowed down, and Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and the Hashiras kept attacking him.

In the end, the sun began to rise, and Muzan tried to run away by turning into a big, thick-skinned demon with the appearance of an infant. Under Ubuyashiki Kiriya‘s command, the entire corps together stopped him from running away. He disintegrated but made Tanjiro his host. Then with Shinobu’s antidote left with Kanao, Tanjiro was cured. Finally, Muzan’s entire existence was exterminated.

Special Mention-

  • Kibutsuji Muzan vs Yoriichi –

Kibutsuji Muzan vs Yoriichi

When Tanjiro was close to his death and collapsed, he woke up in the memory of his ancestor Sumiyoshi. Sumiyoshi was sitting with his kid, talking with his friend Tsugikuni Yoriichi, the strongest Demon Slayer and the user of Sun Breathing. Yoriichi vs. Kibutsuji Muzan was featured here. It was just enthralling and unforgettable.

Yoriichi told Sumiyoshi about his life. He mentioned how he came across Muzan and found out he had seven hearts and five brains. He immediately took action and severed his head. Using the Crimson Red Nichirin Sword, he stopped his regeneration from the head. But Muzan was no less and had one more fantastic ability. He burst into small pieces and escaped. Meanwhile, Yoriichi could only destroy the parts he could and couldn’t eliminate all.

It was no exaggeration that Yoriichi was the strongest demon slayer because, after that, Muzan was careful not to appear in front of him ever again.

Here our rankings have reached the end, and we hope you had fun reading them. Soon, the unanimated fight scenes will get their animation from Ufotable, and we all are in enthusiastic anticipation.
