5) The Way of the Househusband

The Way of the Househusband is such a beloved manga that fans were waiting with bated breath for its release. But it received severe backlash after its release because of its stilted animation.

However, there’s no doubt that the story is absolutely hilarious. As ex-yakuza the “Immortal Dragon” Tatsu becomes a loving househusband for his wife Miku, we can’t help but laugh at the intense dichotomy.

4) Komi Can’t Communicate

Shoko Komi is gorgeous and graceful, and popular among her classmates. But still, she doesn’t have any friends, thanks to her communication disorder.

But when she meets Hitohito Tadano, she gains her first friend a kind boy. With Tadano’s help, Komi befriends the rest of her classmates, all of whom are wacky and stomach-splittingly funny. It’s a wholesome but hilarious journey.

3) Romantic Killer

An entertaining mix of romance and comedy, Romantic Killer revolves around Anzu Hoshino, a girl who’d rather play video games and play with her cat than be interested in something like romance.

But when her life supernaturally turns into an Otome Game by a tiny wizard named Riri, Anzu finds herself thrust into the ways of Tsukasa Kazuki, Junta Hayami and Hijiri Koganei.

2) The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

Who doesn’t want to have super-powerful psychic powers and become someone special? Well, Saiki Kusuo certainly doesn’t.

Born with a wide range of psychic powers in an ordinary family, Saiki wishes to lead a hassle-free normal life. But how can he, when he’s surrounded by so many strange people?

This anime is very funny and one of the best comedy anime of all time. However, be prepared to read the subtitles at the speed of sound!

1) Spy x Family

The best type of comedy is one where there is a substantial plot going around all the hilarity, and that is what makes Spy x Family a fan favorite. Featuring a pretend family consisting of a spy, an assassin and an esper, all unknown to one another’s secret.

Westalis’ best spy Twilight’s mission as Loid Forger earns him a daughter, Anya and a wife, Yor. Will this pretend family find a real bond among themselves as they fight the bad guys? Watch this hilarious anime and find out.

5) Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

When Chiyo Sakura confesses to her crush, Umetaro Nozaki, to her shock, she’s given an autograph instead of a response.

Turns out the guy she’s been crushing on is a shoujo manga artist, publishing under the pseudonym Sakiko Yumeno.

One misunderstanding leads to another, and Sakura somehow ends up becoming his assistant. The anime follows the strange people the duo befriends in hilarious manners.

4) My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Whatever we expect from a teen romantic comedy, our protagonist, Hachiman Hikigaya is going to turn his nose up at it.

But when forced by his teacher, the cynical loner joins the school’s infamous ice queen, Yukino Yukinoshita, to form the Volunteer Club.

The loner duo is soon joined by Yui Yuighahama, a friendly girl. Is this the start of a love triangle? Watch to find out.

3) KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!

KonoSuba is a hilarious take on the isekai genre and is undoubtedly one of the best comedy anime of all time. It follows Kazuma Satou, who dies in an embarrassing manner and finds himself facing a goddess in the afterlife.

The goddess, Aqua, is rude and horrible, and when Kazuma is given a chance to go to a fantasy world, he takes Aqua with him. But much to his misery, Aqua is absolutely useless, and his other two companions are just as wacky.

2) Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100 is another great material from the creator of One Punch Man. The anime follows Shigeo Kageyama aka Mob, an introverted boy who secretly has incredible psychic powers.

Mob uses his tremendous powers working under Reigen Arataka, a fraud man pretending to be a spiritual man able to exercise ghosts. Watch the duo dealing with various funny situations and some eye-popping action sequences.

1) Great Teacher Onizuka

Great Teacher Onizuka is an old classic featuring Eikichi Onizuka, a perverted ex-delinquent who becomes a teacher at the prestigious school, Holy Forest Academy.

The class he’s given is Class 3-4, the students of which are notorious for making the lives of their teachers hell. As Onizuka becomes their teacher with his unconventional style, the students soon warm up to him.

5) I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job

Before Raul Chaser could graduate from the Hero Training Program, the Demon Lord was defeated, causing the program to shut down.

As being a hero is pointless now, he opens an electronic shop called Magic Shop Leon. In the midst of Raul’s mundane life suddenly comes Fino Bloodstone who’s none other than the daughter of the late Demon Lord himself!

4) Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist

In the bizarre world of Shimoneta, the Japanese government has banned anything obscene and penalized the action with tough laws, even monitoring the citizens with special devices.

Tanukichi Okuma is a teenager in this world, whose father was once notorious for opposing the chastity laws. However, as Okuma tries to get close to his crush, he finds lewdness is not far from him again, with the appearance of Ayame Kajou.

3) The Devil Is a Part-Timer

Another funny isekai, but this time the main characters are transported from a fantasy world to the modern world instead of the other way around.

After being defeated by the Holy Hero Emilia, Satan and his right-hand man Alsiel flee to this world. As they stumble their way into the modern world, Satan takes up a part-time job at KFC while Alsiel looks after the housework.

2) My Love Story!!

Takeo Gouda seems frightening because of his huge stature but there’s a golden heart and kind personality under all those muscles. When he saves the cute and beautiful Rinka Yamato from a bad situation, the girl falls in love with him.

But Takeo believes like everyone, Rinka will also prefer his handsome best friend Makoto over him. This anime is hilarious as the couple get caught in misunderstandings while Makoto is the suffering third wheel.

1) Gintama

No comedy anime is as iconic as Gintama. Filled with amazingly weird characters, stomach-aching storylines and jaw-dropping action, Gintama has it all.

The anime follows Gintoki, Kagura and Shinpachi, also known as the Yorozuya, as they get into several wacky adventures. With parody, fourth-wall break and never-ending jokes, Gintama is the irrefutable best anime of all time.

5) Prison School

Hachimitsu Private Girls Academy recently became co-ed, resulting in only four boys in the new school year.

In a school full of beauty, the boys give into temptation and peep inside the girls’ bath, only to be caught and thrown into the underground Prison School.

With over-the-top ecchi elements and jaw-aching hilarity, it is one of the best comedy anime on Funimation.

4) Assassination Classroom

A yellow, octopus-like being suddenly appears out of nowhere and destroys the moon, declaring that his next target is Earth itself. The government would’ve taken care of the being if only it wasn’t the strongest being in the world.

Currently, the being, now called Koro-sensei, teaches Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Middle School where all of its students are trying to kill it.

3) Ouran High School Host Club

Another great parody that will make anyone laugh out loud, this anime starts with Haruhi Fujioka, a girl with an androgynous appearance on a scholarship in the elite Ouran High.

When she stumbles into the school’s famous Host Club, she accidentally breaks a million-yen vase and becomes one of the members of the Host Club to pay off her debt. As she charms the heiress of Ouran, will she also be charmed by her fellow hosts?

2) Kaguya Sama: Love Is War

In the student council room of the prestigious Shuiichin Academy, love is nothing short of a battlefield. There are two factions in this war: the student council president Miyuki Shirogane and the vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya.

As the two try to outsmart each other to get the other to confess first, we can’t help but laugh at this great comedy anime.

1) One Punch Man

One Punch Man is a parody of the superhero sub-genre and follows Saitama, a guy who trained hard until he became the singular most powerful man in the world.

There’s no enemy that Saitama can’t defeat with only one punch. However, nobody can guess that about him by his looks. As he gains a loyal pupil in Genos, the duo registers as official superheroes and gets into many misadventures.

5) Kämpfer

Kämpfer is a bizarre tale of Natsuru Senou who suddenly turns into a girl one morning. While he’s dealing with the shock, a stuffed tiger informs him that he’s now a Kämpfer, a fantastical warrior and will have to fight other Kämpfers or die.

Now grappling with various weird situations, Natsuru has to deal with his apparently lesbian childhood friend and other Kämpfers after him, not to mention his own gender bend!

4) Why the Hell Are You Here, Teacher!?

The subject matter of this anime might put off some people, but there’s enough comedy in the anime to get through the problematic plot.

The anime follows Ichiro Satou, a high schooler who keeps getting into awkward and sexually charged situations with his notoriously fiery teacher, Kana Kojima.

After encountering each other in the restroom for the first time, the duo keeps on meeting each other accidentally, creating many funny and erotic moments.

3) Hataraki Man

Hataraki Man is a seinen anime, following the life of Hiroko Matsukata who works for a magazine company and is a workaholic.

The anime is about her work-filled office days and her dry relationship with her less successful but equally workaholic boyfriend.

The humor of the anime is not over-the-top, like some of the entries on this list, but it is indeed a great comedy anime.

2) I’m Quitting Heroing

Leo Demonheart bravely thwarted the attack of Demon Queen Echidna and saved the human realm, only for the humans to fear and turn against him.

Disheartened, he leaves and during his journey, comes across the camp of Echidna. With no purpose now, Leo tries to join the camp but when Echida rejects his offer, he sets out to capture the hearts of her generals.

1) Love, Chuunibyou, and Other Delusions

Yuuta Togashi has had enough of the Chuunibyou Syndrome, having suffered it when he thought of himself as the “Dark Flame Master”.

Now looking forward to an ordinary school year, Yuuta enters his high school. However, his fate has other plans as soon, as Rikka Takanashi enters his world. This romantic comedy is as funny as it is wholesome. Yuuta and Rikka’s misadventures never fail to entertain.
