Top 15 Strongest Villains in Jujutsu Kaisen, so far (2024 Manga)

Antagonists are one of the most important parts of certain genres of stories, especially in shounen manga. It requires both a great protagonist and a great antagonist for a shounen manga to become memorable. A great example of that would be Jujutsu Kaisen, one of the most popular shounen manga of recent times. Today we’ll discuss the villains in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen achieved success last year like never before. The popularity of the series is higher than ever, with both the manga and the anime earning groundbreaking responses. A huge reason for that is its antagonists. From the very beginning, Jujutsu Kaisen has given us outstanding villains who keep the heroes and viewers alike on their toes.

In Jump Festa 2023, Gege Akutami commented that it was his last Jump Festa while Jujutsu Kaisen was still running, hinting that the manga will be concluded this year. With the ending creeping closer, we decided to rank the strongest villain in Jujutsu Kaisen we’ve seen so far.

For this list, we’re ignoring characters who initially had antagonistic roles but later became an ally to our heroes. So, you won’t find characters like Choso, Higuruma, or Kashimo in this list. Now, here are the top 15 strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen:

Top 15 Strongest Villains in Jujutsu Kaisen

15) Eso and Kechizu

Eso and Kechizu

We’ll start this ranking of the strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen with two characters who could’ve become more than villains later in the story if they survived. Eso and Kechizu are two Cursed Womb: Death Paintings and the younger brothers of Choso. They fight Yuji and Nobara at Yasohachi Bridge.

Eso and Kechizu’s Innate Cursed Techniques are the Rot Technique and Decay. The Rot Technique gives them festering blood that they can spray on their targets and cause poisoning and decomposition. With Decay, they can give their targets a deadly poison that kills within seconds upon touch.

14) Kurourushi

Kurourushi

Up next is Kurourushi, a special-grade cursed spirit born from people’s hatred towards cockroaches. It is a participant in the Culling Game and fights Yuta twice, overwhelming him at one point during their first fight.

Kurourushi’s CT is Cockroach Manipulation which allows him to summon huge, man-eating cockroaches. It has an unnamed Domain Expansion and uses a cursed tool named The Festering Life Sword which allows it to inject its opponents with cockroach eggs.

13) Naoya Zenin

Naoya Zenin

One of the few jujutsu sorcerers who have made a name for themselves, Naoya Zenin is one of the strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a special grade 1 sorcerer and the son of Naobito Zenin, head of the Zenin family. Naoya is also the leader of Hei, the elite assassin group of the family.

He has inherited his father’s CT, Projection Sorcerery. After he is killed, he’s reborn as a cursed spirit, becoming stronger than ever. As a curse, he has a Domain Expansion named Time Cell Moon Palace.

12) Hanami

Hanami

Born from human’s natural fear of land-based disasters, Hanami is an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit who is allied with Kenjaku’s group. They invade the Tokyo Jujutsu High during with goodwill event with the Kyoto Jujutsu High and later fight Gojo in Shibuya.

As a special-grade curse, Hanami is very powerful. Their CT allows them to use the flora around them for both offensive and defensive purposes. Their Domain Expansion is never revealed in the story but is officially named as Ceremonial Sea of Light.

11) Dagon

Dagon

The quietest and most passive member of Kenjaku’s group is Dagon. As an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit, Dagon’s power is great. Initially, he exists as a cursed womb and later emerges in his true form in Shibuya.

Dagon has a water-based CT that produces massive waves of water and allows him to summon numerous fish-like Shikigami. His Domain Expansion is called Horizon of the Captivating Skandha. Dagon fights Nanami, Maki, and Naobito, and easily overwhelms them.

10) Mahito

Mahito

The most villainous antagonist of the series has also earned a spot in this list of the strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen. Mahito is an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit who is a part of Kenjaku’s team.

He is a fairly young curse and still learning his own power. But his potential is great. In a short time, he’s mastered his CT: Idle Transfiguration, his Domain Expansion: Self-Embodiment of Perfection, and even Black Flash.

9) Jogo

Jogo

The second person who fights Gojo in the story and provides the opportunity for the first look of the Six Eyes is Jogo. He is an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit who has allied himself with Kenjaku to bring about an era of curses.

Jogo has a powerful CT which allows him to control fire and lava. His Domain Expansion and ultimate technique are called Coffin of the Iron Mountain and Maximum: Meteor respectively. Jogo has been acknowledged as strong by Sukuna himself.

8) Takako Uro

Takako Uro

Kenjaku brings back a lot of ancient curse users when he initiates the Culling Game and one of them is Takako Uro. She used to be the leader of an assassin group of powerful curse users.

Takako’s CT is Sky Manipulation, a unique technique that allows her to manipulate and distort space as she wishes. She also has a Domain Expansion and is about to enter a three-way domain battle with Yuta and Ishigori when they are interrupted.

7) Ryu Ishigori

Ryu Ishigori

Another incarnated ancient curse user, Ryu Ishigori, is also one of the strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen. He fought a three-way battle against Yuta and Takako Uro, though their fight is left incomplete.

Ishigori’s CT, Energy Discharge, allows him to release powerful blasts of cursed energy from his pompadour. He also has a Domain Expansion but it is never revealed.

6) Yorozu

Yorozu

Yorozu is an ancient curse user who is incarnated inside Tsumiki Fushiguro when Kenjaku initiates the Culling Game. She knew Sukuna in the past and has been obsessed with him, believing herself to be the only one capable of loving him.

Her CT is Construction which allows her to manipulate her cursed energy to create anything she knows about. Yorozu’s Domain Expansion is called Threefold Affliction and uses the very destructive True Spheres with a sure-hit effect.

5) Uraume

Uraume

The human servant of Sukuna is also his most devoted follower and one of the strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen. Uraume served Sukuna a thousand years in the past and was chosen for their talent in cooking human meat. At present, they join Kenjaku to revive Sukuna to his original state.

Uraume’s CT is Ice Formation which allows them to generate and manipulate ice. They are strong enough to go to-to-toe with Yuki Tsukumo, Yuji, Choso, and the students from Kyoto. Their recent fight against Hakari also speaks for their power.

4) Suguru Geto

Suguru Geto

Jujutsu Kaisen not only has some very powerful antagonists but also some very well-written ones. A great example of that is Suguru Geto, the curse user who attacked Tokyo Jujutsu High and initiated the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons in Kyoto and Shinjuku.

Geto was a classmate of Gojo and Ieiri in the past and defected in his third year. He later joined a cult as their leader with the intention of killing every ordinary human in Japan. Geto is one of the four special-grade sorcerers, thanks to his Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

3) Toji Fushiguro

Toji Fushiguro

In this list full of curse users and cursed spirits, Toji Fushiguro is unique in the fact that he is neither. Born in the Zenin family, yet with zero cursed energy which made him unable to see curses, Toji later earned the Heavenly Restriction that gives him superhuman physical prowess.

Armed with his extraordinary physicality, cursed weapons, and shrewd sense of battle, Toji is a force to be reckoned with. He fought and overwhelmed Gojo and Geto in their youth and even managed to almost kill Gojo before the boy revived himself. Toji also very easily defeated Dagon, a special-grade cursed spirit.

2) Kenjaku

Kenjaku

The shadiest character in Jujutsu Kaisen is also one of the strongest villains in the series. Kenjaku is an ancient curse user who now lives a parasitic life by possessing the dead bodies of other jujutsu sorcerers. Currently, he possesses the body of Suguru Geto.

Kenjaku’s CT not only allows him to inhabit a dead body but also gives him access to the memories and CT of his vessel. Additionally, he doesn’t lose the CT even if he no longer inhabits the body. His current go-to CT is Geto’s Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

1) Ryomen Sukuna

Ryomen Sukuna

The strongest villain in Jujutsu Kaisen is the one everyone expected: the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. Sukuna is not only the strongest villain of the series but also the first one to be introduced. After sharing bodies with Yuji and Megumi respectively, Sukuna has finally regained his own body and his power is almost back to its original level.

For the longest time, there was a debate about who was stronger between Sukuna and Gojo. The answer is clear now, with Sukuna emerging as the strongest character in the series. While he was already extremely strong, after regaining his body, he’s reached another level that no one can hope to reach.

We conclude our ranking of the top 15 strongest villains in Jujutsu Kaisen so far here. It’s no secret that Sukuna is the ultimate antagonist of the series, so even if there are more antagonists introduced later in the story, we can count on the King of Curses to stay as the strongest one. We leave it here. For more rankings like this, check out Otakus’ Notes.
