For today, though, we’ll be focusing on anime for 11-year-olds, which are fun and exciting without too much violence or mature content.

The best anime for 11-year-olds are mostly under the shounen and shoujo genre since shounen anime are exciting but the violence is not too gritty and gore, and shoujo anime is cute and lovely without the adult drama of josei anime. Some of the best anime for 11-year-olds are Teasing Master Takagi-san, Inuyasha, Yowamushi Pedal, and many others.

15) Blue Exorcist

Rin Okamura’s life turns upside down when his adopted father is killed by a demon and he finds out that he and his twin brother are sons of Satan, and he is Satan’s successor. Filled with grief and rage over his loss and parentage, Rin enrolls in the Exorcist academy, where his brother Yukio is an instructor.

Blue Exorcist has awesome fight scenes and a cool protagonist. Though the series is incomplete, it’s still a pretty great anime for 11-year-olds.

14) Teasing Master Takagi-san

This sweet and wholesome anime will make anyone smile. It’s about two junior high students, Nishikata and Takagi, who sit next to each other in class.

Nishikata is frustrated that Takagi always gets an upper hand on him, teasing him and leaving him flustered. However, the oblivious guy doesn’t realize that Takagi likes him and he likes her back.

13) Snow White with the Red Hair

The romance genre in anime can sometimes be problematic with over-the-top dramatic situations, but Snow White with the Red Hair is a breath of fresh air from that. It follows Shirayuki, a young woman who works as an apothecary.

After drawing the attention of the prince of her country, she has to flee to get out of marriage. She’s saved by Zen, the prince of the neighboring country, whom she befriends and eventually falls for.

12) K-On!

K-On! is a fun slice of life anime about four high school girls forming a band. The members of the Light Music Club, Mio, Tsumugi, and Ritsu, find their fourth member and lead vocalist in Yui, a lazy girl with a penchant for music. 

The anime is full of funny and cute moments that are relaxing and entertaining. Also, the musical journey makes it a great anime for 11-year-olds.

11) Inuyasha

Inuyasha starts with Kagome Higurashi, a normal high school student, who is transported to feudal Japan where demons are prevalent.

When she accidentally breaks the Shikon Jewel, a powerful object that will grant any wish of the beholder, she must find all of its shards and protect them from falling in the wrong hands. Joining her are Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo.

10) My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia tells the story of a superhuman society where 80% of humanity possesses superpowers called Quirks. The story revolves around Izuku Midoriya, a timid but determined boy who aspires to become a Hero like his idol: the no. 1 Hero All Might.

The biggest obstacle to his dream is his lack of Quirk. But when he meets his idol and gains an all-powerful Quirk from him, he finally has the opportunity to make his dream come true.

9) My Love Story!!

My Love Story!! is an unconventional but sweet love story between Takeo Gouda and Rinko Yamato. The huge and muscular Takeo is frequently mistaken as a frightening guy by girls despite his gentle and kind nature. They are more attracted to Makoto Sunakawa, Takeo’s handsome best friend.

But when Takeo saves Rinko, the girl sees behind his tough appearance and into his gold heart. Takeo, however, expects her to fall for Makoto just as every girl before her has done.

8) Bleach

Ordinary high-schooler Ichigo Kurosaki’s life becomes a lot extraordinary when a young woman dressed in a black kimono visits his room one night. She introduces herself as Rukia Kuchiki, a Shinigami tasked to destroy Hollows to protect humans.

When Rukia is injured by a Hollow attack, she transfers her powers to Ichigo, facilitating the beginning of the Substitute Shinigami.

7) Yowamushi Pedal

Sports anime are great in the sense that they can cater to people of all age groups. Yowamushi Pedal is a good example of that, and the perfect anime for 11-year-olds.

It starts with Sakamichi Onoda, an otaku who is looking forward to joining the anime club at his new high school. But there is no anime club and after some incidents, he joins the bicycling club of his school.

6) Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is a great but underrated shounen anime about a young boy named Aladdin who is one of the mighty Magi, possessing great magical powers. He travels across land with Ugo, a djinn who is his friend and mentor. 

During his travels, he meets Alibaba Saluja and later frees a slave girl named Morgiana. With these two, Aladdin journeys through various magical adventures.

5) Black Clover

Asta and Yuno are two orphans who dream of becoming the Magic King of Clover Kingdom. During their ceremony to receive their magical Grimoires, Yuno receives the rare and powerful four-leaf clover Grimoire while the magicless Asta gets a never-heard-before five-leaf clover.

With their new powers, the boys move to the capital to become Magic Knights and work towards their dream.

4) Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z is the sequel to Dragon Ball and follows an adult Goku who is now married to Chichi and has a son named Gohan. But Goku is still as fond of fighting as ever.

He, along with the rest of the Z Fighters soon find themselves protecting the Earth from dangerous extraterrestrial threats, one more deadly than the next. This anime is a classic and a wonderful action anime for 11-year-olds.

3) Naruto Shippuden

Naruto Shippuden is the sequel series of Naruto, and there could only be a few people who haven’t heard of it. Filled with dazzling action scenes and a gripping plot, it is the perfect anime for 11-year-olds. 

It follows Naruto Uzumaki after he returns to Konoha after two and a half years, and his journey to bring his old friend Sasuke Uchiha back to the village.

2) Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone is an unconventional shonen anime that focuses on science along with the usual action and adventure genres. Humanity is petrified after a light appears out of the blue.

Three thousand years after that, teenage scientist Senku Ishigami breaks himself out of his petrified state with his knowledge of science. As the world and humanity have returned to the Stone Age, Senku vows to make the world go back to normal with his science.

1) Barakamon

The premise of Barakamon might sound a bit boring to 11-year-olds, but the anime is full of fun and heart. It tells the story of Seishuu Handa, an accomplished calligrapher now trying to find his own art style in a village.

But the task might not be so easy with the colorful and energetic residents of the village, including the cute but annoying kid, Naru Kotoishi. It’s pretty fun to watch Seishuu interacting with the people and it indeed is a great anime for 11-year-olds.
